The secret is to have a routine that you love doing every day, especially if it's in the morning. You will always look forward to waking up. For me: feeding my cat, walk for 30-40 minutes, make/drink coffee while reading books for an hour. No matter what happen after that, it was already a great day.

It's called contentment, something most people seek, but few find.
You're doing great Gabe, ❤

My husband and I were literally just talking about this! It was our day off, we were playing video games, our cat was snuggled up with us and he just turned to me and asked, “do you love our life? I love our life.” And I told him I do!

I left my stressful job in the fall, we’re learning budgeting and living more frugally, and we serve our community and we serve our church. Our little apartment is full of laughter and music and friends. It’s so simple but we truly cherish it.

For so long we were grinding and working but threw our money away on dumb stuff. Now we work less, save more, and are working toward goals that hopefully will make us more self sufficient. We still have dreams but they’re not as glamorous for some but they work for our values and our family. Your videos have also helped a ton! Thank you Gabe!

I heard you talk about traveling, I find traveling stressful. I had a week and half off around Christmas and when I got back to work every single person kept asking me "Where did you go?" "What did you do?" I live in Europe, where it is super easy and cheap to fly or even drive to any number of other countries, but it is still stressful and cost money. Everyone looked at me like I had sprouted a second head when I told everyone I went nowhere and did nothing except relax at home for ten days with movies and video games, and that I even lost track of a sleeping schedule, went to bed when tired, get up when not tired, no matter what time it was. I have to say it was the best vacation I have had in a long time, no pressure to go see something, or be with people, no hotel or food bills. Hope I get to do it again.

I’m the same way….My sister is always entertaining, traveling, and living in chaos but she seems to love it. Great for her! I’m home alone working on my projects, learning, cleaning and organizing, reading…walking….then looking at and enjoying my clean organized space. Lol I totally get it! You are not boring! You create peaceful content to validate everyone else like you!❤

That is not a boring life. That is a fulfilled life. Loving the people in your life, being a steward of your body and possessions, enjoying the "little things" being grateful for life. That is the opposite of boring.

You dont have a boring life. You have a very beautiful family. A homestead. Beautiful curls in your hair. A beautiful mindset. On and on. Thats the ultimate life. American dream in full effect

You are definitely not alone. I totally love my simple life. I am such a hermit. Introverted but I just love being home, organizing, reading, praying. I am with God. Even when I go out sometimes with friends and I do love to see them sometimes. I am dreaming of being home the whole time and wonder why I even went.
It’s ok it’s uniquely you. 🙏🏼

I totally understand - I also like being home and having routines. The world expects us to do "interesting" things 24/7. But I just find that stressful. Occasionally, yes, but not always. :)

What a beautiful phrase, "I had built a life that I didn't want to escape from." ❤

I have a “boring” life at home too. I absolutely love it. Being at home pottering is my favourite ❤

There's a difference between "boring" and "realistic". You have a realistic and fulfilling life where you don't need to be in massive debt or stuck in the rat race trying to keep up with expensive liabilities you don't need. I think that's wonderful.

Thank you for saying that out loud. My family always pressures me to “do something “ And then I start rethinking myself “maybe there IS something wrong with me loving my home so much “ You just made me feel better

You created a life you don't need to escape from. That's powerful! Some people travel and do all the things because they're trying to escape their boring lives. They need vacations; they don't want them. (Big difference.) Since you aren't doing the same, they think you're boring. No! They're boring which is why they need to constantly distract themselves. They don't realize you've cultivated what they're seeking.

I love when you said “I have built the life I love” there’s intentionality in that statement and the fact that you’re happy with it is admirable.

Yes I want a boring life that suits me. Easy living, good food, good sleep, healthy body, organized home, clean home, some travel, seeing those I care about and love as much as possible, good books, movies, hanging with my doggie

I'm definitely a homebody. People always say I need to "go out more" and "experience life" without understanding that my wants & goals in life are very simple.
There's nothing wrong with "boring" or simple. I like the fact that I don't have to rely on chasing "cheap thrills" to feel fulfilled.
I also agree with you on traveling. 😂 I genuinely don't enjoy it. Plus I want to be a resident & experience the culture of where I am, not just a tourist there to take pictures.

You're doing a great job & this stranger on the internet is very proud of you! ❤

I too chose a boring life and I’ll never go back to all the hustle and bustle that society wants us to believe is the norm. If I want to do anything I now have the time to do so. People often tell me that I need to do this or that and I tell them try this way of life. There’s nothing wrong with boring! Thanks for all your videos.

I've recently retired, and after 30+ years of time stress and forcing myself to get up early, I now enjoy having a blank calendar and drinking coffee while I watch Youtube. I'm trying to figure out how to be motivated from within rather than having motivation forced on me externally by job demands.
