Why You Should Pursue A 'Boring' Life

For a lot of people, a "boring life" is synonymous with an uneventful, undesirable, unfulfilling life. A life few would look at from the outside and immediately say "I want that!" - But I disagree!

I think a boring "appearing" life is actually something worth striving for under the right conditions.

In this video I share my thoughts on why you should pursue a "boring" life.

I totally agree. Majority of people would think I have a boring life. I work at home and love my space and when I do something at home or outside my space I know what I am going to do before I do it. The less chaos the better!
Best part of my day is going out to feed the squirrels in my backyard.Watching them out the window in the morning and mid afternoon playing with each other, eating and hiding their sunflower seeds.

I love to read about others experiences! People have told me why I don't just go out and experience the world instead of reading from a book. My view is that im not as tired/worn down or broke by trying to "experience" what someone else has already gone through and written about lol. Also, walks

I'm almost hellbent on having a boring life... I entered this world with extreme turmoil. I struggled until I got my ideal life with my ideal home driving my ideal car that I park in my ideal garage. I furnished my home with French colonial and modern mix. Plenty of plants. This home is heaven my idea of heaven that I rarely leave and literally get aggravated if I have to leave it for anything! LOL! I love my life now and I fight like hell to keep it as nice and boring as I possibly can.

I ran across this feed and I am one of the people that live a boring life. That boring life allows me to live an amazing life. I am debt free and mortgage free and semi retired. My daily routine is about as boring as you can get from the outside but it brings me so much joy. It's the comfort and the contentment that I cherished the most. I completely understood what you were saying as you describe my life to a tee. I love living a slower pace of life. I totally get it.

an ideal day for me is pretty similar to yours, chill with some mates or your partner, play some games, do some exercise, have a walk in nice nice weather.
Life ain't worth stressing too much over, it has a time and place but I shouldn't be allowing it to be a everyday thing, as long as I have what I like and enjoy, what else do I need.

I just fell into a rabbit hole seeing someone's instagram packed with amazing fun events and felt so awful about my life. S glad I found this because everything I do is intentional and if I really lool at it I love it

In light of the restrictions here in Canada I’ve really been thinking on this. I’m actually ok with making creative dinners at home and being outdoors more. The introvert in me kind of felt a sense of relief that I don’t really have to worry too much of “going out” in “fun” social settings. During lockdown. I actually found a sense of joy being around my family more. We started doing speech classes at home. Girls nights in with my daughter. I think when you slow down you find joy in the things that society doesn’t necessarily deem the most exciting.

Also, great point about upping your quality of life. I’m going to meditate on that. I find that people normally don’t want to move to those types of areas because there’s “not much to do”.

Creating a life you don’t have to take a vacation from is ideal. Living within my means is ideal. The discipline gives me the freedoms others don’t have. When you aren’t held by the shackles of impressing people who really don’t care, it’s freeing. Automatically you have more money and time just by default. People show you their highlight reels on social media. Rarely do you see the bad credit scores, texts from exs that hate them, family issues, or what they REALLY do for work. It’s glamorized. Once you can look past all that, you get to live YOUR life and not someone else’s…
