Why I Choose to Live a Simple 'BORING' Life Over Hustle Culture

I choose to live a boring life because "I am enough" just as I am. The hustle culture makes me as if I need things outside of myself to find happiness. By living a simple life, I realize that I am enough. Living a minimalist lifestyle has helped me see that living simply & minimally brings contentment. I saw there were better ideas, and I changed my life by accepting myself. I left the rat race when I realized I am doing enough and embraced slow living. I improved my life by avoiding hustle culture and embracing a simple lifestyle. Why I live simply? So I can live a good life.

boring life, how I live, change my life, simple life, minimalist, minimalism, simple living, live minimally, I am enough, better life

What are ways you embrace the boring life and find gratitude for little joys?

Too bad it took me 62 years and after I retired from my job to discover just how blessed and content I am with my life right now .. I love being outside in nature and just to sit and listen and see how beautiful life is!!!!

I'm 60 and quit drinking alcohol 2 years ago because I was almost dead from it. Total complete lifebuild transformation. Nothing short of it. My life is basic and simple and healthy and quite boring now. I've never been happier in my life. Happy Holidays.

This is an "awakened" lady. Simplicity is the gold standard. Most people just haven't recognized it.

Purchased 20 acres and a small house located in the forest along the South Shore of Lake Superior nine years ago, and absolutely love my quiet life here. Just me and a four-legged kid in this boring life, but it is totally fulfilling, and I am truly happy!!!!

At 50, my wife passed away, & I am 100% simplifying my life. I had a simple life before marriage, & now I am going back to it. I can feel my happiness increasing as I release all of the things that keep one in bondage. It is quite freeing & just plain fantastic!!!😁

The only reason I ever participated in the hustle, was to eventually make it to the country. Mission accomplished. First two years was processing, reflecting and healing all the bruises from the hustle.

I crave simple and boring in my mid fifties. It takes living experiences and spiritual development to figure out what really matters.

Thank you so much for this message. BTW I would not call this a boring life. It is a serene life full of peace and contentment. That is what most of us strive for. I needed to hear this. At 68 and retired from a busy demanding career as a Registered Nurse. I feel lost and uneasy that I am no longer productive or needed. Kids are grown and I have been divorced for a very long time. Spend most of my days not talking to another human. Of course I have my rescue dog Beau for companionship and a wonderful group of friends that I socialize with regularly, but I feel something missing still. Your video has assured me that I am just fine where I am. Thank you for this wonderful gift.

We all forgot what living a simple life feels like... it is better than anything. Thank you Connie, you are inspiring!

Aloha! I think you're doing the right thing for sure. Society today is getting sicker and sicker as far as I'm concerned and I'm going to leave it soon. After my best friend (doggie) was killed by an inattentive driver, I started rethinking everything. I'm a quite successful software engineer and could still make a significant amount of money, but would I really live? I don't think so; not as much as you. I'm already out of social media for a long time and now I'm getting rid of all my "stuff" and have recently put my condo up for sale. I bought a small sailboat in Guatemala and I'm planning to spend the rest of my life "living" with focus on helping nature and others. I'm going to read, listen, and dream away between visiting islands and teaching when I feel like it. Most of my friends think I've gone crazy, while I already feel more balanced and happy; enjoying the smaller things in life. Anyway, thanks for making this video; I envy you :)

I'm72 years young and like others commenting on this lovely video I regret that I've only recently embraced a simple life. But it's never too late! God bless you Connie

I think people are so busy trying to achieve that they truly forget to be. I walk everyday with my dogs for 1 hour and it is a magical moment that I cherish every day. We really don’t appreciate what is right on our doorstep!

If most of us (humans) lived a serene lifestyle like this, we would have much less pollution and mental issues in the world. Thanks for sharing! 🌱🌹

I think this comes with age. I am 48 and doing a lot of self reflecting and realizing the same thing. I feel more content and happiness in the quiet moments and being around nature.

I discovered Abraham Hicks in 2013 and have been going with the flow ever since. To quote Abraham " Nothing you want is up stream." 🙂

OMGosh, did the same. After my husband passed, I totally retired, downsized, and got real with everything... Happier for it. Happiness and joy are natural...

I started seeing this at aged 32 after my mother passed away. It’s a lunatic asylum out there and I hate it. I try to live simply at present, but it’s hard when so many people are deep within the matrix. Thanks for a great video ❤

I love this, thank you for sharing. I've not met many others like me so this was a pleasant surprise! My family knows I LOVE "boring" and am so happy when I don't have anything to do or anywhere to go and can just enjoy a relaxing day at home or outdoors. When I used to work in an office, I hated that pressure question on Fridays, "What are you doing this weekend?" Or on Mondays, "What did you do this weekend?" as it never felt like "nothing" was an adequate answer but it was exactly what I wanted to be doing and what made me happy. I also feel like traveling is overrated and stressful, I much prefer to stay at home and enjoy some low key moments of reading, baking, watching a show or just the not having pressure to go do something else. Keep enjoying your slow paced life, it's a lovely journey! Sending peace and gratitude from Okinawa . 🙏🏼🌺
