That along with jinn being nerfed honestly makes the fight way closer, maul brought him to a spot with stylistic disadvantages for jinn as well as qui gon being exhausted and even then jinn was only taken out by maul hitting his face

This is further backed up by the fight in the desert where maul was struggling despite having the jump on jinn

I think this is pretty accurate, I think maul wins for one reason and that is stamina, he only beat qui gon due to his physical advantage rather than skill. Skill wise I think it’s fairly equal in terms of saber skills, force augmentation obviously changes the physical side of things however maul is just in a better physical condition. And he only lost to obi wan on Naboo because he was caught off guard, because maul kinda won the fight until obi wan used Ataru(I think) to catch him off guard.

W edit. Naboo being a dark side nexus is a good argument. Qui-Gon still confirmed Maul is more skilled than himself and even the extreme Force amped Qui-Gon with Force mediation could only make the fight evenly matched.
