Qui-Gon vs Darth Maul (Tatooine) Extended

There was a brief moment that was deleted from the initial fight between Qui-Gon and Darth Maul where Maul would jump onto the ramp of the starship and continue his fight before being pushed off. This explains why Maul appears to be standing up as the ship escapes in the final film. The scene was never completed and only exists as an unfinished poor quality shot and was included on the Blu Ray. This is a reconstructed version of the full scene.

When I heard about this deleted scene years ago in the Extras, it helped fill in some of the gaps...Qui-Gon lying on the deck like he'd just fallen down always felt disjointed. Glad to see it together like this.

The Star Wars Episode 1 comic book features a similar moment, only in that version Darth Maul is only able to grab and cling to the edge of the ramp and Qui-Gon then slashes his lightsaber at the ramp which forces Maul to let go and fall back down. Either way, it kinda makes Qui-Gon's escape from Maul less lucky and more due to his own skill despite how it ends for him during their rematch.
