I upgraded from an RX 580 to a PowerColor 7800 XT Hellhound recently. It's good to get some extra validation. I wanted to wait for the 9070 series, but decided it would be better to avoid tariffs. I thought about the RX 6800, but ultimately decided that I wanted a card that ran a bit cooler, was more power efficient and would offer better driver support. I've been very happy with it so far!

Great vid all around. In particular, your advice on the 7800 XT resonated most with me and was/is absolutely spot on, and I felt the same, which is why I bought one last month. Some ppl were advising me to wait until the 50X cards released and prices overall would go down but I was concerned about scalpers and tariff talk having the opposite effect, just like you talked about, which is exactly what happened. The same 7800 XT I paid $490 +tax a month ago is now over $640 +tax

I'm so glad I got my RX 7800XT a few weeks ago. It pairs really well with the R5 7600 build I did last year, and now my dream rig is finally completed. Such a great card for 1440p <3 And about the things you said concerning the next gen: Even the cheapest RX 9070 is at least €200 more expensive here.

Got a 7900xtx yesterday from Newegg after refreshing the page and it going in and out of stock for an hour or so. Glad I pulled the trigger now. Will be a huge upgrade from my 3070! Got it for 830$ USD. Pretty good deal right now with everyone buying them all up!

Oops...we MISSED the boat. Current price today 2/12 on 'zon for the RX7900xtx is $1200 on zon, up about $300. . Today 2/12 the recommended Rx 7800xt is now from $718 to over $1000. Up too late. Cya in a year or two.... ouch.

I bought a Radeon 6800 XT back in august 2024 and I'm really grateful I bought it used for like 280 dollars, I paid for a anti corrosive painting and to repair a blown fuse and it's working amazing, but to be honest, I like to play my games in 1440p in medium graphics for most games since I don't like too much details or particles, I am a retro games lover, so I like them simple and I play this type of game mostly.

But sometimes I play Halo Infinite, Master Chief Collection, Helldivers 2 or Warframe and I use high graphics for those.

Great purchase.
