Been using my xtx for streaming and video editing and its fantastic. Av1 is a big help for quality and file size.

Personally as an engineering I’m running Nvidia partially because they have better compatibility with modeling software, however my main reason was because when I ran an R9 FURY (old card so it is to be expected) I had a lot of stability issues with the windows drivers. I couldn’t try a swap to Linux since windows is best academically

I always hear the advantage of performance when streaming over radeon but when i stream on my RX 5700xt at the max butrate that twitch allows i don't see any difference in framerate literally at all. But Radeon software has a much better background recording that Nvidia with more options and without having to download a separate software from the driver, it's more customizable and easier to use at the same time, it also hasn't given me any issues while the RTX 3050ti laptop i bought is still bugged and i can't use the recording or streaming software in the app so basically there's no coding advantage and i can't easily record in the background. Really disappointed after all the hype around their software being better and more reliable but having more expensive hardware but just getting opposite experience with the same price upmark

Take the card that suits your needs and budget best.

IMHO upgrade a second generation to what you currently have, my upgrade path 10xx series to 20xx series and now i own 40xx series. This is to ensure you at least the performance jump is more equal or more then 50%.
