Treating the body as a bank account, ignoring that the body actually has a hormone system is nonsense. I wish people would stop believing the calories in vs calories out myth. 😞

I lost 50lbs with PCOS. Limited refined sugars, cut down on grains, cut down on dairy, and drank around a gallon of water a day. For me, unprocessed foods was the key. My body still was fine with carbs from fruits and I didn't count calories or macros during any of this, so that was really nice. For exercise, it consisted of 45minute walks + weightlifting! Usually low intensity. I also was getting a lot more sleep during that time so I think that really helped with insulin + I had just got my PCOS diagnosis and started taking Metformin, which may have helped as well.

I have PCOS since 4 years and I’m doing intermittent fasting for last 6 months and didn’t see any change yet.

This is great. I have PCOS and the only thing that’s ever worked for me is counting keto macros, aiming for OMAD combined with intermittent fasting. The second I’ll veer off course I fluff up again.

it gets quite confusing to count calories when you consume high proteins like 30gms and eat more fat, we have always been advised to stay in 12-1300 calorie and to measure food, what should I do ? should we still count calorie while staying in low carb diets

No matter what I've tried, OTC meds, prescribed meds etc..I continue to wake up multiple times a night. Like you mentioned, just one night of interrupted sleep can affect insulin levels. So here I am waking up every.single.night. Sounds like I have zero hope to lose weight despite trying all the other tips :(

Thanks Kait for your advice! I been fighting pcos for years in trying to reverse this horrible syndrome and it’s been very difficult ..but I know people say it’s posssible to reverse pcos symptoms even though it’s hard..I’m going to have faith that one day I will feel better from this..I try to remember that pcos doesn’t define me as a person

Thank you for the tips. I will implement them. I think eating more protein and intermittent fasting will help. What do you think about metformin?? Atleast for. Few months. I’m trying to lose weight to help me conceive.

I don’t know if I did but some of the things said made me think maybe I had it. Can you still have it during menopause. Well I haven’t had a period in about 4-5 years I’m 53 n has really heavy periods n found it hard to get pregnant when I was married n at one time had fibroids

I started my weight loss journey. I'm allergic to nuts and alot of recipes for these weight loss meals have nuts as part of the diet and makes me feel like I'm missing out on the nutrition I need.
