Why are people trying to downgrade her success? She did what was necessary and I am sure it still required her to be determined and hard working.

Good for her! PCOS is a terrible disease. The struggle is truly real.

She lost OVER 200 lbs, not “almost” 200 lbs. She states she’s lost 210 lbs.

I’ve been working out regularly and I watch my food intake but I keep gaining weight and it’s because of our hormonal imbalance (stress is a very big factor) not because we are not doing anything about it. It is just harder for us to lose and takes longer and much effort than normal women. People need to understand this.

That’s crazy, because the gastric sleeve basically just makes you eat less. But I already eat close to nothing and I exercise, yet I still can’t lose weight with PCOS.

*Changed my life. I will never eat the same ever again. "Unless you physically trip and your face lands in a box **weightlose.fitness** of donuts, there is no such thing as a 'slip'." Get that mind set and you'll win again and again.*

I had gastric sleeve surgery in 2014 and weigh almost exactly what I weighed when I had it done. It only works for people with specific issues, so don't let anyone talk you into cutting half your stomach out - without a lot of research and soul searcing - it simply doesn't work for everyone. I ended up with acid reflux and anemia after the surgery, where pre surgery - so it actually made my overall health worse. Just understand it is not the answer for every situation or person and it's definitely not the easy way or guaranteed to be successful.

So happy for you. Weight loss is a feeling of freedom. Some people dont understand that feeling unless theyve been through it or have a close relationship with an overweight person.

Wait so she lost weight by gastric bypass. Why not have it listed as "Woman loses weight by having gastric bypass."

I have PCOS and my body wants to hover around the same weight most of my adult life. It's about 40 lbs more than where I'd like to be. It's a tough syndrome to have that's for sure! I don't know what's worse, the weight issues or hair loss.😒

hate to break it to people but here is the cold facts.
1. PCOS comes in a few types. My sister has pcos but no weight gain. i have pcos and sit currently at 310 lbs.
2. PCOS treatment has come a long way in the last 10 years but that doesn't mean that the treatments will work for you.
3. Fad diets, hardly work. I've done Whole30, Keto, Intermittent Fasting, Carb Cycling, Low carb, no carb, low fat. None of them worked. I've done Noom and by understanding food better, I lost 50 lbs.
4. PCOS does NOT use the simple formula that everyone knows. Weightloss = more cals burned than eaten. insulin resistance throws this formula out the window.
5. Some PCOS patients are resistant to medications, diets, and lifestyle changes

I'm 25. I've had PCOS for years before I was diagnosed in 2017. I gained a hundred lbs in less than year without making any changes to my lifestyle. This wasn't like one year i had a donut twice a day for 8 months. No. I was doing what I normally did and the weight came on. Since 2017, I've had a personal trainer in the gym, done Whole30, keto, low fat, low carb, no carb, intermittent fasting diets, carb cycling, AND THREE hormone replacement therapies. Additionally I was on medications like metformin to try and control my weight. Nothing worked. I did learn a lot about food (thank you Noom) and gain a lot of helpful recipes for better eating, but the weight only got WORSE.

I met with my bariatric surgeon last week, terrified of doing this massive surgery and feeling guilty that I could not get it together. He was really nice and explained it really is not my fault. Hormones produced in the stomach are like a thermostat and that thermostat is telling my body to store fat. He told me that I had a 1/1000 chance to reverse this on my own. There is no shame in my failure to break this cycle because my body was fighting me. Gastic sleeve is chosen as the right course of action. It is not "UNNECCESSARY" and I am not lacking "WILLPOWER, CONTROL, " and there is no "SHAME." I've chosen to look at it like a cancer, a part of my body is slowly killing me and it needs to be removed. This is how people should look at this too. The people who say we are just lazy should be the ones ashamed for their willful ignorance.

I eliminated my PCOS, IR and estrogen domince by taking micronised bioidentical progesterone, metformin and spironolactone combined with a strict keto diet. A year later 25kg lighter, not a single cyst, insulin sensitivity back, high estrogen and high testosterone normal. PCOS is called a syndrom as it involves high aromatising testosteron, estrogen dominance, low progesterone and glucose imbalance causing insulin resistance. I am still on keto and regularly check my hormones and glucose.

But did she heal her PCOS? The gastric sleeve doesn't get rid of PCOS.

I might be getting the same surgery for my PCOS. My endocrinologist recommended it and I've been considering it for a while now.
