First Law of Thermodynamics

The first law of thermodynamic says that heat is a form of energy, and as what all other forms of energy are subject to, it follows the law of conservation of energy.
So what does this mean? It means that Heat Energy also cannot be created nor destroyed and can only be transferred to one form or another.

Don’t overthink this too much, this law is all about HEAT as energy and follows the law of conservation of energy and that’s it.
Now to appreciate the application of this law let’s try a very good example.

This Coal is just a type of rock but for scientists, this rock contains energy that produced HEAT Energy when it undergoes complete combustion. Actually, some powerplant utilizes this coal to generate electrical energy or what we call electricity.

What they do is that they feed this coal into a boiler furnace and with the assistance of oxygen and a little heat, this creates combustion in a form of heat energy.
Now the heat energy will transfer its energy to water above it making it into steam, and this steam will rotate a Turbine (and that’s Mechanical Energy right there) and then this Turbine will rotate a Generator which converts that energy into Electrical Energy.

See that just by knowing this law you can do so much.

REALITY CHECK the first words of the first law are, 'in a CLOSED SYSTEM'.!!! this qualifier MUST be Acknowledged, at all times. i cannot imagine any real-world system that could be said to be closed. this is so, in part, because, IN ORDER for any system to be closed, it would have to be

opaque to ALL types of radiation (including cosmic rays)
non-reactive to gravity or magnetic forces, while
NOT absorbing any Energy (from external sources)
in addition, all possible systems are In Motion, moving around in
a sea of Energy and mass; called the Universe.

Human has a serious misconception about energy. Energy is usually expended by using direct. However, if we use energy indirectly, it can be used without spending zero percent. This way more energy can be generated without wasting energy.

I love how simple this is the way. I learned this was far more complicated because it came from a real Jerk of a teacher Who literally tried to make it as complicated as possible for everyone in the class.Everybody hate it and I'm.He always tried to make things far more complicated than they needed to be, which no other teacher did and the worst part was.He was our history and math teacher And he would nit pick everything.
