The newest patient at Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital is too nice for her own good - to the point that her niceness over anything of the slightest annoyance is enough evidence for House to know that something is severely wrong.

From Season 5 Episode 13 ''Big Baby'': When Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) decides to spend more time caring for her baby, she hands some of her day-to-day responsibilities to Cameron (Jennifer Morrison). One of them is supervising House (Hugh Laurie), whose patient is a very nice special-education teacher who collapsed in class. House doesn't think that her niceness is a good thing.

This is the official YouTube channel for House M.D.. Watch all of the official clips from the series, the funniest and saddest moments, and follow all of the doctor's most curious cases.

Fun fact that the guest actress played Colleen in Dr Quinn Medicine Woman for the first few seasons if anyone watched that back in the day.

He really saw her crashing because of the phone call and held it there continually

Patient about to stroke out during open brain surgery asking to hang the phone up. Meanwhile, Kutner just standing there holding the phone to the intercom. 📱 👁👄👁

The patient has her skull open. She does not need to hear people arguing about this procedure as it’s being done. This is ridiculous.

This is probably the most unprofessional thing I've seen Cuddy do. You call a doctor during brain surgery, you put them on hold while your baby is screaming in your face, and bo one hangs up when they see this is risking the life of the patient?!? 🤨

Why on earth would Cuddy talk to a doctor (1) over speaker phone (2) with her baby screaming - when he's got her skull open in the middle of a proceedure?! Its usually House that's unhinged. 🙄 (Edited to add: ah, ok, it was a plot point 😅)

This is probably the most absurd Dr. House "Deduction" and "Solution" in the entire series. Cameron would never allow the surgery, and Cuddy would never call in the middle of brain surgery with her baby screaming. Also, isn't Chase the expert surgeon?

You saw it here first folks! If your name is Lisa Cuddy and you yell at your baby they'll stop crying.

"Cutting into this woman's brain is not necessary" if I was sitting there with my skull wide open I'd say way more than "is she serious?". Get me tf out of here is more like it!

dude, even if cutting into her brain is not necessary cuddy
1 - they are already doing it, most of the possible damage has been done already
2 - if that was me as the patient i'd be freaking out cause my doctors are screaming at each other while my skull is open
3 - Now there is a stressfull baby crying noise while I'm trying to stay calm and I'm already nervous cause they are cutting into my skull

Cuddy: "I need you to stop! What do you want from me?!"
Also Cuddy: "We bonded :D"

How would it be medically relevant that the baby crying annoyed her? The sound of a baby crying is evolutionarily engineered to be annoying so that you can't ignore it.

Brain open, patient panicking and absurd call still going on. Perfectly normal

1. You would never take off that much of the skull for a craniotomy.
2. That is waaaay too slow for nerve conduction. It's meant to be closer to 50 m/s... 10-20 m/s would definitely indicate something wrong in the brain, likely involving demyelination!

Cuddy's fascinated by those epiphany moments House has (as is everyone). He's brilliant but his mind is a black box. Even he isn't sure how it works.

I'm watching this now thinking that in season 7 of Outlander, Roger and Brianna had to come back to the 20th century because their baby girl had the same heart condition and needed modern medicine to fix her. The episode aired just a few weeks ago. And I'm not finished crying about it

Mid neurosurgery, let's panic the patient and cause distress.

Excellent choice.
