Nope, that’s 100% incorrect. I’m sorry to say that your information is inaccurate and misleading.

As a practicing Muslim, one should avoid commenting on topics they are not well-versed in.

Please take a moment to read and understand the following:

When was the crescent moon & a star between its two sharp edges accepted as symbols for the Ottoman Empire and later associated with Islam?

Ottoman Empire
Devlet-i ʿAlīye-i ʿOsmānīye
c. 1299–1922 (Dissolved in 1924)

The first mosque in China was the Huaisheng Mosque in Guangzhou, built during the Tang dynasty in 627 CE.

Muslim Arab traders began constructing mosques in China during the Tang Dynasty, around the final years of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). The crescent moon & a star between its two sharp edges were already present on these mosques as a sign of Islam.
How about that ?

Prophet Muhammad (SAW)
570 CE – 632 CE

Just observe the years.

Wikipedia information is correct but Not everything is found correct on Wikipedia; that’s a fact.

Actually, I already knew the answer, but I wanted to see if other sources confirmed it.

Symbol/flag is just a sign to identify which group, club, party, religion, country or ethnicity it is. In Islam, there is no specific symbol according to Holy Quran and Sahih Hadiths (except Shahada written in white cloth). Later, Muslim sultans used 'Crescent & Star' on their flags just to represent their Muslim empires (Golden age of Muslim civilization). It has no relationship with (Shirk) worship to something else or any kind of bogus explanations by non-muslims. Besides, Islamic calendar depends on Moon cycle and Crescent sign resembles the happy Eid day of our Muslim culture. This is most probably why Sultans used that symbol on their flags. So, there is no need to suspect anything wrong about it. May Almighty Allah bless and unite all Muslim ummah, Aameen ☪️💚🤝🏽
