Once you're outgrown your turbo busa, the next best bike to move up to is the ninja 650.

Can you add more older bikes to these kind of lists most of the people looking for a new bike dont have a budget of 10k ( i sure dont)

I think the rebel 1100 is a great choice. it’s under 10k it’s a Bullet proof Honda thing and super light

After 3-4 years with a Z300, I'm looking to skip the 650 class and go straight to the Z900 at the end of the year. I had the opportunity of riding one on a racetrack (Interlagos, one of the most fun in the world) and despite being a lot more powerful, I found it manageable. I was also looking for a GSX750S but their prices went to the moon here in Brazil (well, moreso than other bikes) and is now more expensive than the Z900.

I got a a1 licence (47 hp), now doing my A unlimited licence, I used to ride a ninja 250 and my lessons are on sv 650, the difference is huge, the difference is something I honestly didn’t expect, first gear is longer then the old ninja 3rd one, take it easy guys

Second bike, but not replacement, keep your ninja 400 or r3. They aren't worth a ton and they'll still be fun years later, and get even more fun the better you learn to ride on larger and faster bikes

Upgraded from my 125cc to the Street Triple RS last year, absolutely love it, so easy to get along with from the moment I jumped on it

I started on a Ducati Scrambler Cafe. The bike just called to me with its looks and after riding a BMW 310R, a Rebel 500, an R3 and then the Ducati I was most comfortable on the Ducati.
It was just effortless on starts with the extra torque of the 803, and didn't have the gearing issues of the others where you are pushing 5-6k rpm at 60 in top gear. It was essentially brand new so I have been keeping the RPMs down until the first oil change/service and then I will open it up more as I grow. Instead of starting smaller and getting tired of it.

I would definitely like to suggest the Kawasaki Z900RS

Also could we get a version of this list with used rather than new bikes?

I've already got my second bike. I traded with my dad and got his old 87 Yamaha Virago 1100 and I love it..

I jumped from a suzuki gn250 straight to a Kawasaki zx12r. The first ride did leave me cleaning out my trousers but you soon get used to the power. Its more the difficulty of learning to corner properly on such a behemoth

I jumped from a donkey of a 250cc scrambler to a Yamaha MT-01 (1700cc v-twin street bike), no major issues really. Was a sharp learning curve, but depends on the rider. If you ride stupid, then expect many close calls or an accident or two... If you have throttle control you should be fine!

2018 Triumph Thruxton R paid 9k used has very nice suspension and brakes, not to mention looks that kill. The power is surprisingly sufficient as well as good reliability.

Street triple. I love her, just wish she had cruise control.

If you aren't into that neo-retro look of the cb650r, you can get a cb650f which looks a bit sportier and cooler imo :)
