As my first bike was a turbo busa i can tell you being recussitated is a wonderful exhilarating experinece. Plus the feel of the wind ripping by is great when you highside but the busa can be slow when you need it.

Busa is a great choice. Goes just fast enough that you don't feel the skin ripping off. AND you can tell everybody you got in a bar fight, because we all know chick's dig scars.

The G310 R has been the perfect bike for me, a small beginner, and having the 24/7 road assistant in Europe plus the 3 years guarantee included sure was a bonus. When you live less than one hour away from 3 different European countries, the road assistance sure is a bonus.

It will be nice to see what next year's lists look like. Happy New Year's eve everyone and thank you to YammieNoob for getting me through all 3 lockdowns in the UK.

I have a g310gs. I really like it. Pretty comfortable. Not over powered at all. Handles great. Amazing mpg. Good for riding around in the hills and stuff. Not for 80 mph stuff.

The BMW G310 is not a rebranded TVS Bike! Its a BMW that‘s produced in India, just like most of your precious KTM´s.

One normal bike on this list for a beginner is the Hayabusa.
Now I will tell you what bikes really cool newbies ride in ukraine:
1. Legendary CB 400 SF (carburetor)
2. SV 650
3. Lifan kp 250
4. Drag star 400 (for Harley fans)

5. BOSS HOSS - V8

My G310R has been a loyal traveling companion for 2 years now, I mainly picked it over other bikes in the class for the comfort and it's fit and finish, sure it's one of the slower bikes in it's class but I love riding it and I get nonstop compliments on it's looks! Also having a CDL-A to protect means speed isn't something I'm looking for in a street bike.

My first bike in 1990 was a Honda VTR250 Interceptor. I loved that bike and wish I still had it. You will always have a special place in your heart for your first bike so my advice is don’t sell it when you upgrade, you’ll regret it later on.

I started on a DRZ SM and if I had to do it again I'd start on a DRZ SM (and keep it this time). I wanted a Ninja 650, but my moto mentor said, "You'll thank me the first time you drop it, it isn't a mangled mess and you're able to ride it home." I did exactly that three months later. It was also a lot of fun in big city traffic and I could actually flick through all the gears without blatantly breaking the law (unlike my next bike, a GSXR 750).

Cb300r was my first choice and it's currently serving me very well

To me the best beginner bike only meets 3 conditions.
1 low cost to own and operate.
2 Retains its value for trade up.
3 won't get yourself killed making the first 2 conditions irrelevant.

All my conditions revolve around money since I'm poor lol.

Coolest 'beginner' bike imo; MT03 660 (single cylinder) which can be picked up used in the UK for around £1, 500 to £2, 500. Bullet-proof engine, good torque, low seat height, light weight, very cool look and superb fun to ride. I owned one alongside a z1000sx for 5 years and I used to swing a leg over the MT more often than the was just bloody great fun to ride.

I have watched dozens of your videos and clearly what passes for a 'good bike', 'beginner bike', 'city bike', 'highway bike' or 'dirt bike' in Texas (and obviously the rest of the US) is not always the best choice for other countries. Beginners where I live (and most of the rest of the world) are restricted to much lower powered bikes and most litre+ bikes are simply too fast to be of any practical use where speed limits are actively policed and are often around the 100 km/h (60 MPH for those who can't do the maths) and that's on the highway, city and town riding is often 50 km/h or less. I understand your audience is mostly US based, but bikes like to Enfield are solid choices as a fun, easy to ride multi purpose bike in many countries. PS, big capacity dirt bikes have always done it for me as a road bike, I have had a road kitted YZ490, and both an XR 500 and 650, you can't have more fun with your pants on!.

As an eurobro, I started on a 125 in september '21, and am already looking to get an A2 licence and an SV650 (which was my heartthrob for years).

I started riding last year and I have a 23 BMW G310R and a 23 Ducati Nightshift Scrambler. I got the G310R first and it was amazing to learn on. It is very forgiving and everything just works. I picked up the Ducati last week as a step up and it’s pretty perfect. Vey happy with both bikes. Both may be beginner or semi beginner bikes but I don’t think I’ll want more. And thy look gorgeous!

With gas prices these days I’m really thinking about getting a bike for work to home. Liking the Yamaha MT 03.

I started out on a Kawasaki Ninja 400 and loved everything about the bike. Just put it up for the winter but have been looking to upgrade to either a RS660 or a yamaha R7. Either way i pan on keeping the 400 because even now it's still had so much to teach me.
