What would happen if you only ate one meal a day for the next 30 days. Would you lose weight and more specifically would you lose body fat or would you lose muscle mass? Or maybe your body would go into starvation mode and cause you to gain weight rather than lose it due to a slower metabolism? Well that's exactly what we're going to drive into in today's video. I've been eating one meal a day not every day but almost everyday for about 2 years now. And it's worked really well for me, so today I'd like to let you guys know what results you can expect if you stick to only one meal day for the next 30 days. Even though I've had quite a bit of experience with the one meal a day diet myself I'm going to be sharing scientific studies and evidence that will help you see both the pros and the cons of this diet approach. First I want to go over the proper way to set up this diet plan for yourself because there's not an abundance of information out there on the one meal a day diet like there is on shorter fasting protocols like intermittent fasting. So a lot of people that try to stick to this diet plan mess it up from the very get go and turn it into more of a warrior diet. And the warrior diet is great, but that's not what we're going for here. You see the warrior diet is a different form of fasting where you fast for 20 hours of the day and you give yourself a four hour feeding window for eating. If you don't set limits to the amount of time you spend eating you easily can drag out your one single meal into a buffet that lasts for hours. So it's very important that you understand that one meal a day is also a 23/1 fasting to feeding split. Meaning you only give yourself a 1 hour feeding window usually during the same time every day and you have to spend the other 23 hours of the day fasting. If it isn't already obvious OMAD or the one meal a day diet helps you create a calorie deficit without really thinking about restricting calories. When you're only eating once a day especially when you do it the right way and limit it to under an hour, you can only fit so much into your stomach before your full. So really we're limiting calories by decreasing meal frequency. Which immediately can be a red flag for those people that believe that your metabolism slows down when you decrease meal frequency. However, numerous studies have proven this to be a myth. One study called "meal frequency and energy balance" combined and examined research from a bunch of different studies on the topic of meal frequency. And the researchers found that a nibbling pattern of eating or eating more frequently didn't present any advantage as far as the metabolic rate was concerned. So your metabolism is not going to automatically slow down from eating only one meal a day for 30 days. If you have the same amount of calories in that one meal as you would in 6 meals then your metabolism should remain the same in both situations. So does that mean that the "starvation mode" that we've all been warned about is a big phony scam? Well turns out it's actually not, it's actually called adaptive thermogenesis and it's a very real response that your body has. In response to a decrease in energy intake your body will decrease energy expenditure in an effort to avoid starvation. However adaptive thermogenesis will occur based on the total amount of energy or calories coming in. As long as you don't fast for over 48 hours It doesn't matter...

I hate when I’m watching a video and I always like to look through comments for debates and opinions and forget to pay attention to the video and have to start over. Lol

Nice clickbait title. You never explained what your starting fat levels were and your ending fat levels. There were no discussion of YOUR "results". This guy didn't explain that you're basically doing a 24 hour fast when you eat OMAD. When you do a fast anywhere from 16 to 36-40 hours you increase your Human Growth Hormone by as much as 5x... naturally. It's also anti-aging, anti-alzheimers, etc. etc. etc. It causes your body to start burning and recycling old cells. When you go for at least 12-14 hours with no food your body becomes a fat burner instead of a glucose burner. When you constantly eat... your body will constantly be hungry looking for that next input of glucose. You've been lied to about eating many small meals. That makes you fat and slow. This world is run by rich, evil people... they happen to own all the companies selling the unhealthy garbage foods and want you to be a fat food junkie. Peace.

Ive lost 15 pounds in a month by doing this and moderate weight lifting / cardio. I can say it works very well for me and will continue this life style

Currently doing this and have been for the past 3 weeks. I messed up during week 2 and gained a little bit of weight cause I binged but I’m back on it and have just started to exercise as well. My highest weight last year around September was 385 and now I weight 319 pounds. In the past 3 weeks I weighed myself and I was 335. So in total I lost 16 pounds. I’m sooo happy and am really proud of myself. I’ve struggled with weight my entire life and doing this is really helpful. I don’t have to worry about eating until 6pm. I thought it was going to be hard because I honestly love food and I love cooking even more but doing this I realized is only helping my passion for food. My goal weight for the next couple of months is 280 and to start upping my cardio as well as strength training.

I've just lost 22 kg! Only 3 kg left!!! 😁
I hadn't even heard about OMAD when I started. I just decided to do one meal a day because otherwise the 3 meals I would eat always felt too small. I need a large meal to feel satiated and satisfied. And then my body naturally detoxes through out the day. You should see my skin now!
Trust me this works!

On the topic of people getting hungry and dropping out quickly, its because your body's hunger works in cycles, imagine you eat 3 meals a day, your body's clock will start to get hungry around the time you usually eat those meals. And while your body's good at adjusting to new meal schedules it takes time, at least 3-4 days. So when people first start the OMAD diet, they get really hungry at the times they would usually eat, as your body expects food at those times. But eventually your bodily clock will adjust to just expecting 1 meal a day at a regular time, that being said it really isn't for everyone, so take this with a grain of salt.

This is so good. I used to eat OMAD and I never struggled with weight and barely had to work out. I adopted that whole 3 meals a day and snacks and I swear every since that, Ive been struggling to keep fit. Im going back to what works!! Thanks for this!

I loved how he talked about scientific research behind his points. I love credentials and not necessarily just people’s individual opinion. I’ve been doing OMAD for one week, first 3 days were the worst. I also workout with 4 days with HITT workouts and 2 mass building workouts. I feel great. Lots of water in between.

Been going on one meal a day for more than a week now. My body feels the same, my hunger has reduced, and have lost 5 pounds. Will continue doing this and watch my weight. Not sure if this works for everyone but so far it has for me. I also started eating salad in my meal instead of meat, and carbs.

I had to look through my youtube history to find this video and let you know how this worked out for me so far. It's been almost 3 weeks, lost more than 7 kilos and gained so much mental clarity... When I watched your video the first time I did not take what you said at the end about mental clarity so serious as it's been a huge problem in my life and nothing so far has worked as good as this! Not only this lost my weight but I also never felt any better.. especially mentally... not for several years now. For those who are seeking similar results here's 1:1 what I do. I wake up and drink water or any kind of tea for a while until 3PM, I then do about 30 pushups... some crunches, squads, biceps curls. I then hit the shower (hot one for now but am aiming next month I'll only be taking called showers). Dress up and hit the shops for a long black coffee without milk, once it hits 4-5 PM I go grab myself a steak or Adana kebab with only fat on the side with salad...NO CARBS... purely fat and meat with some salad or veggies. hit home after and finish off my work do couple more push-ups or crunches and hit to bed to sleep like I never dreamed before. Every now and then I treat myself with dark chocolate after that meal or some alcohol if it's a weekend and am catching up with friends but I try to stay away cause these things just makes me carve hard and am fine without them. I must note that ever since I started this I've to throw my chair out the room and been doing my work on the computer standing up mostly. By eye's it looks like I've lost at least 5% body fat and going to the gym 7 days a week before never gotten me this close to get in shape like this does. HUGE THANKS and I hope people really give this a go.

I started the 5:2 diet plan exactly a week and a half ago, I went from 215.8 down to 202.3
I have been lifting heavier with lower reps but also implementing lots of reps with a heavier than normal weight amount on all my workouts.(15-18 reps) at this point I’m maintaining and still getting down to my goal of 194 but what I love about this diet plan is that my waste has dropped about 2 inches.
