Benefits of One Meal a Day Intermittent Fasting – Dr. Berg

In this video, Dr. Berg talks about doing intermittent fasting at a frequency of one time per day. If you get all your nutrients, it is not starvation, it's a super healthy eating plan. Doing this will not just help you lose weight (belly fat), but help you achieve autophagy, which is cleaning up all the damaged cellular parts and bacterial residue (mold, fungus, virus, candida, and bacteria). It is anti-aging and will help your body's proteins. You want to transition to 1 meal per day gradually, starting with three meals a day, then two, and then one - ensure you do not snack. Our current eating in society is based on keeping your blood sugars up and preventing low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). When doing 1x per day intermittent fasting, make sure you also do keto (ketogenic diet) and not do junk food.

Doing 3 meals a day with snacking is not good for your health and will not help you lose weight even if you eat healthy because every time you eat, you increase insulin. This results in insulin resistance. This is also called metabolic syndrome. I think it can inhibit diabetes. Doing 1 meal a day will increase your lifespan (anti-aging).

What I used to hate about “dieting” was that I would obsess about food—when’s my next meal, what I’m going to eat, calorie count, I’m hungry now. OMAD has completely freed me from the anxiety and unhealthy obsession I used to have with food. I can finally relax and just enjoy my meal without worry or guilt.

I had been doing intermittent fasting (16:8) with 2 meals and snacks for some time and when my weight loss eventually slowed down I changed my fasting schedule to 20:4 with just 2 meals and no snacks. Once I did that, I realized I wasn't really hungry for my 2nd meal. I started 23:1 with OMAD last week and omg it's a world of difference. Not hungry at all and my weight loss has picked up again. Thanks so much for all your videos Dr Berg. You are truly making a difference in people's lives.

I've been intermittent fasting (2 meals a day) for 9 months, keto for 4 months and coincidentally i just started 1 meal a day 4 days ago. I've lost over 40 pounds and work out daily. I'm now thin and i'm in the best shape of my life! I'm never really hungry and i feel AMAZING! I have way more mental focus, enhanced ability to concentrate, and my energy level is constant throughout the day. I think it should be called the Superhero diet, because thats how it makes me feel, lol. Your videos have changed my life for the better Dr. Berg! Thank you!

I LOVE intermittent fasting. I do 1 meal a day. I've dropped 55 lbs in 6 months, decreased medications for fibromyalgia, sleep and depression. This is weight I couldn't lose for 20 years. I've never felt better. Our family uses many of your supplements! Thank you for all the information.

Hello Dr. Berg. I am a 51 years old latina who's been struggling with food addictions since I came to this country (30 years ago) I'm from El Salvador growing up in the middle of war at my country with no food and no money. Because of that, I did not had any issues with been ovese, in fact I was 120 pounds when came to USA. Been here was like been in heaven and started eating way more than need it and stared gaining weight. I found one of your videos on YouTube by coincidence. I did not knew who you were. Stared to follow you more and more and decided to try the Keto diet and IF. As today July 11th. This is my day #9 and I must say that since day #1...I am absolutely surprised how easy this transition has been for me. As food addict I was never able to go throughout one day without snaking or over earing. I been the type of people that I just eated and half hour latter must go to the kitchen looking for food with no control at all over my addiction to food. Many times though about why me, why I am not able to control myself and so many others negative thoughts about myself and how unworthy I was.I stared the Keto plan on July 3th at 275 pounds and in 9 days I am down to 259.2 Is this normal? This is week 2nd and must say I am already felling better.. I have more energy, no cravings at all, I been fasting for about 19.5 hours each day and because my arthritis, osteoarthritis, and some other inflammatory conditions, I not been able to excersice but pain on my knees is gettinng better and better and now I am able to stand up and slowly take some steps. Just wanted to thank you so much, you are saving lives of people like me. Now I understand things better and looking forward to continue this experience with your support.
God Bless You Always and thank you for been there for us!!!! and Please excuse myself with grammar, English is my second language.

Everything Dr. Berg is saying is true! It takes a little hard work to get into ketosis and to get down to eating just one meal a day but when you get there... It’s ultra liberating!

I couldn't imagine dieting because I got hungry every two hours and got irritable, my hands would shake and got headaches. After watching your videos, I gained enough confidence to try. I'm almost into 3 weeks. I already started one meal a day for a week. Today I'm getting off from 50 hour fast. I have lost 10 pounds. I am alert, have energy, my bloating is gone. Another mazing thing is I feel free from food obsession and no craving. I Knew I had fatty liver, yeast, Candida, arthritis, often have headaches also severe hay fever and chemical allergies. I thought I was eating healthy- I was off red meat because i used to get bad acid reflux, bloating and not able to digest them. I didn't realize the grain wasn't the best things to eat, I lived on rice. I cannot thank you enough for making these health lectures!! You make it simple, breaking down to understandable but to the point with no fluff. I wish I knew about these free classes I can learn to help my health and my loved ones. You always have a video for any questions I have. Which I can't get from my "Doctors." Really I appreciate that now I can live healthy knowing how to be health. My inflammation is so reduced, I haven't had a single Tylenol in 3 weeks! Thank you! Mahalo! 谢谢! 고맙습니다! ありがとう! Gracias! Keep up the good work! You are saving people's lives.

I started doing OMAD almost two weeks now. I lost 9 lbs. in two weeks. I stopped all my medications for diabetes, HTN, acid reflux, pain for knee arthritis. some time I take 2 tabs Tylenol for pain post exercise. Before I was doing keto diet to lose weight but it was not working for me. Finally I found the solution with watching Dr. Burg's video. Thank you Dr. Burg.
