1. As enlightening as your article is, it is pertinent to bring out that TDS is a wrong way of measuring the purity of water. As educated people we need to know that TDS includes all dissolved solids that is GOOD as well as BAD (impurities). we must understand that growing industrialization and urbanization, as also the general lack of professionalism in our work ethos (esp got org), even treated water may not always be drinkable due to possibility of leakages and contamination enroute from the treatment plants. And we do lack the technology/ mass implementaion of high end tech as found in many developed nations to control these essential services like water in this case.

2. End of the video you show that the TDS cannot be controlled. i must correct you here and educate all that there is a small screw based know on the inside of the machine wherein u can increase or decrease the TDS of the final water output. i have a KENT RO GRAND PLUS model and i have done it at them. i maintain it at 200+. Maybe you got a bad tecnician. U must get in touch with Kent company for this clarity.

3. these are water purifiers. its does not incl RO alone but also sediment filter, charcoal filter, UV filter and some others. Let us not unnecessarily bad mouth companies even without having the knowledge of how the whole Purification system works. water can have dissolved microbes and smell and other contaminants. how do you remove that ????

4. i understand your desire to educate your followers, but pls do not go over board and start misleading people. Even a TDS of 200 can have dissolved microbes which can cause various diseases. no one will want that for the families.

5. So what is the take away ?

- Use Water Purifier expensive one with all the technology. it removes unwanted and disease causing impurities and microbes.

- Differentiate between RO and a water purifier. RO is just one of the filters of the water purifier. i has many additional filters like UV, Sediment, Charcoal, etc.

- RO is a wrong term we all use colloquially. the term is WATER PURIFIER. pls do not malign companies unnecessarily.

- Displaying foreign country articles for Indians is of NO use as their essential services are better / at par with what our private companies provide. foreign countries have a better public mgmt system and their articles are based on their existing infrastructure.

- Population of India is way way more than other countries with majority of us Indians struggling to acquire the basic meals a day. a few of us maybe lucky to be stating in good colonies with good water and electricity. majority are not.

- Good water purifiers have the TDS controller built in them. I am aware. other readers can check on ground. Pls do not propagate wrong and unverified messages.

- Yes your pt maybe valid if one is talking about only and only RO water purifier. however i dont think only RO purifier exists. It is always a combination of various filters.

6. Gentlemen, my advice - please research well and understand the science behind anything rather than blindly following any unverified post meant to malign a product base for Likes and shares. very unprofessional of you !!!

7. Anyone can post anything in youtube today. however we all have an inherent responsibility to speak responsibly. i am a serving officer of the Indian army. and i do follow your channel. However this post of yours was 90% wrong and unresearched. As many of us follow you, it should be your onerous responsibilty to research well before posting anything.

Before these kind of informative videos I used to watch only selective videos of yours, because we don't buy gadgets everyday.😂
But now I wait for your videos.
While watching your videos, I very much connect with it. My aged parents usually watch a lot of TV and they became kind of obsessed with RO due to ads and peer pressure of seeing it being installed at every home. I almost rebelled against it and made them settle on regular gravity filters.
These are the things I've also been trying to explain to my friends and family members for long. Whether it is about RO, or your previous videos about usability of mobile features and how much money to invest on phone.
In this heavily "marketing" dominated environment, we need honest comments from guys like you. Your videos influence a lot of people. I really appreciate it.

You've covered the health part properly, which is good. But I would appreciate more if u would've talked more about the waste of water that the RO purification system causes, which is a global threat nowadays.

Good informative video. However,
TDS control is done in purifier using a TDS control valve inside the purifier. Since the machine is to be opened & until you get confident of doing yourself, it is suggested to ask the service guy (this time ask for a different guy, as the guy who told you it cannot be controlled, obviously does not know this).
TDS control valve mechanism is very simple; the small TDS control valve which is operated using a screw driver is actually an RO filter bypass valve whose output gets mixed with that of output of RO filter. Hence output TDS is controlled by the ratio in which output of RO water and bypassed water gets mixed. So, you cannot get TDS more than that of purifier source water. However, fully opening the TDS control valve can give you output TDS close to purifier's source water TDS (which I guess in your case is Municipality water).

Thank you for doing these kind of videos as generally their is very less information regarding these goods such as home appliances etc so what average does is ask around in his or her friends and circle and sometimes in these situations it's like blind guiding the blind as there is no set parameters/scientific or logical and practical facts to know about the product efficency and working. This video is very nice and informative. I was thinking about not using RO, but then another thought came to mind. In societies, water supply is generally through water boring and water stored in roof top tanks, which are usually not clean. So RO helps in cleaning those impurities.

Sir they would increase TDS by just mixing the tap water again to the purified water ..that is what the TDS controller does.
Hence purity is lost again and it would show higher TDS.

This episode is very good and a social service. I myself worked in water treatment and desalination for many years in Middle East. Ro is good for brackish and sea water where salinity is high. WHO standard is in par with most countries well water. Rest you have covered in you video. I admire the effort you took to gather this info. Keep it up. God bless you
