Nietzsche - How to Become Who You Are

ABOUT THE VIDEO
_
In this video, I talk about Friedrich Nietzsche, Ecce Homo, fate, and greatness.

For Nietzsche, becoming who you are leads to greatness. And in Ecce Homo, he wrote, “[that] one becomes what one is presupposes that one does not have the remotest idea what one is.” The question of how you become what you are begins with the idea that you don’t know what you are in the first place. You’re something that has to be discovered, and by taking the journey towards self-discovery, you’re embarking on the journey of a lifetime, while also moving towards your own greatness.

But you’re probably wondering, “where do I discover myself?” No one know where you can find yourself except for you. There are no directions, no sign posts, and nobody to follow. You have to follow your instincts. Only you know which direction to take. There are things which naturally attract your attention, and they present you with questions you can’t help but think about or want answers to. Those questions will lead you towards yourself. Your instincts are the compass which will guide you on your journey.

As an artist, you will frequently find you're the only one who will be excited about your work. The important thing is that it feels good on its own.

You are not what you do with other people. You are what you decide to consciously do when alone. Only when alone you can think well, slowly, undisrupted, unpressed, sorting what you see as good, yours, worthwhile. Then you can add these things together generelasing laws about you, and detailing what else fits you. And being You is not the End. After you get your path you shouldn't stay alone. When you learn the path it's time to walk it. It's time to put your stamp on the world. And it's time to create a synthesis with other's similar to you. Since you got truth then it's worth to share. To help others who may not figure it out as easy as you. You are inspiration to others. Not many others though. Only moments are pretty only isolated spaces are great. You are here to build own space. You are a bird & every bird needs a nest & a company. If you have confidence you know yourself you have confidence in next generation you will be parent of. Don't let dreams of others monopolise the world and destroy other ppl spaces & block your dream. Living is a teamwork. But choosing & learning about mates is the most important thing.

This was so good. Never even thought about anything like this.

Makes me wonder, "In what parts of my life am I acting like Raphael?"

This has been true for me. I wanted to be a group fitness instructor. For the first year, I had horrible butterflies every time I went to teach a class, and, I sucked. I kept showing up and I started getting better and better. I also kept studying and staying interested in my craft. I saw many people who wanted to teach come and go over the years, because the first few years are so hard. My husband is a good mountain biker, and he came home one night and told me he understood what it was that made people good at biking, he said you have to like to suffer. The rewards have been that he can go on incredible rides and get incredible thrills. He also gets to have a group of friends with a common interest, which is very bonding and very fulfilling. I have come back to playing an instrument in my adult life, and I found the same fulfillment by sticking with it. I now have a group of friends to hang out with once a week and play music! If you find something you love, just keep doing it, despite the hard times, despite the criticism, despite everything, don't give up. The longer you do something, the more masterful you become and the more enjoyable it is.

This used to be me. I used to approach things that way as well. I never thought people were jealous...i more internalized that i wasnt good enough to the point where it crippled me. i never walked away from it. i kept going, but i have always thought that if i kept going, it would pay off in the end and i would be the artist that ive envisioned myself being. you do have to go within, and stop chasing validation(which was something he did in the story).

I think people willing to suffer are the ones who already know themselves. When we know what we want what we stand for we will suffer to make sure we achieve that. Regardless what anyone else thinks. Sometimes this causes us to be isolated which is painful but it's better to deal with pain then to sell out.

This is exactly the journey I've pursued and finally find my true instinct through false beliefs. It's tough to suffer, but it's worth indeed.

This is where my journey is at now. Trying to learn how to accept suffering to move forward. I am stuck in a path of avoidance. Great video i hope this is one more step in the path to balance.

I think it's a quite good lesson to learn from. When you think of it, it's not only a matter of your identity, or how you perceive yourself, it's also something you can understand by just having common sense, which is something we tend to lose when it comes to our pride or self-identity.
Sorry if I made mistakes, I'm currently learning English :)

I like how i just finished the book "Alchemist" from Paulo Coelho ( which was about following your dream with the guidance of your instinct ...) and after that, this video popped up. Maybe the universe has something to say

Suffering for a goal is actually very empowering, as it comes with purpose. Suffering without a goal is experienced just as externally imposed torture. An example: an aching shoulder after working hard towards fitness goals often feels like a badge of honour. While an aching shoulder from low pressure and an arthritic injury can feel like a punishment from a mistake of the past. Same shoulder, same person, same level of pain - different relationship to agency and idenity.

This video can be seen from many beautiful perspectives ❤ This first one that came to me was… Life will test you to become who you say you really are. Sometimes the better you comes from the critique and mastering of your own craft ❤️ Thank you for this video !

This has clarified some things which I had glossed over in my own self-exploration. The story really brought to light some things I have casually overlooked and revealed my personal impediment to self-discovery, and the path of becoming who I am meant to be. I will have to replay this over.
