Friedrich Nietzsche was a German philosopher, poet, essayist, and cultural critic. He is considered to be one of the most daring and greatest thinkers of all time. His writings on truth, morality, language, aesthetics, cultural theory, history, nihilism, power, consciousness, and the meaning of existence have exerted an enormous influence on Western philosophy and intellectual history. He was one of the biggest precursors of existentialism, which emphasizes the existence of the individual person as a free and responsible agent, determining their own development through acts of will. By his famous words “God is dead!”, Nietzsche moved the focus of philosophy from metaphysics to the material world and to the individual as a responsible person for his own life. Friedrich Nietzsche wrote several books like The Birth of a Tragedy, Human, All Too Human, The Dawn, Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Beyond Good and Evil, Twilight of the Idols, The Will to Power, The Antichrist, and many more. His teachings have shaped the lives of many people; from psychologists to poets, dancers to social revolutionaries.

Sometimes when you lose yourself you end up in the middle of nowhere, but in the middle of nowhere you often find yourself

To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment. 🙏🏽

I have Nietzsche’s quote as a tattoo in my inner arm.
“ He who has a why to live can bear almost any how”.

Everyone who is watching this is on the right way. We may be a loner for a period of time, but the good news is: It will not always be like this. We are growing and changing. We are good humans and the right ones will stay by our side. Look around you; maybe everything you dreamed of is already here :)

Peace

The thing I love most about Nietzsche's philosophy is that it revolves around being a better person for yourself. Fundamentally, that's the one thing in this life worth living for.

It's about learning to be yourself, do what makes you happy, follow your heart's desire, don't let others to control/manipulate you.

Not following herd mentality is a great first point. Just because it’s mainstream, doesn’t make it right 👌🏽

I'm so thankful to have found this at 18. I'm tired of being a sheep, I want to be free. I want to be the authentic version of me I lost as a child when the world told me who I should be.

This is so deep. I’m I the only one feeling overwhelmed and grateful for this knowledge? Took a mental day off and found this. The best thing that happened to me all day. ❤️

The problem with the" dont follow the herd mentality" is that everyone feels they dont follow the herd.

I think the reason why people admire a genius is not because of their high intelligence or talents, it really is about that they are audacious enough to embrace their dreams without caring what others think about and whoever criticized them. They might not be appreciated in their times but like many famous mathematicians and scientists, they would be remembered after they have had their day.

I applied a lot of his philosophy and found myself becoming a whole different person. I’m glad I found his teachings.

Thank you. This journey has been so hard. I moved out of my parents place about a year ago and I found myself to be so alone. Then I depended so much on my boyfriend at the time for his company so that I wouldn’t feel so lonely. But when he broke up with me I was absolutely crushed and alone once again. I had to face my loneliness and honestly, I’m okay. I’m surviving. Studying and listening to different ideas about philosophy has helped me so much. I deleted my social media apps and it feels so liberating. I realized that I don’t care about the people I used go to high school with anyway. I don’t care about other people’s expectations. I’m Still struggling with my family and what they think of me, but being alone just lifts so much weight sometimes and makes you see things more clearly.

this is gonna sound kinda stupid but finding this idea at this moment has honestly changed my whole mind set. For the past 4 or so months i've been unknowingly struggling mentally and didn't even realise how lost i truly was. I acted in ways that i know i didnt want to yet i still did and have been going through life not being sober. Although there have been good times there have been many times where i've never felt so alone yet i have some of the best people around me. It's funny because my whole mind feels lifted and refreshed after looking into these philosophies... live life in the present and be greatful for everything thats happened despite the ugliness .. cheers to a great 2021 everyone (if anyone even sees this lol)

Growing up, I saw my dad reading a lot of Nietzsche's books. Today, I understand his behavior even more .
