All of us are anxious to implement cooling at the earliest when needed. However, passive cooling, which is to avoid overheating in the setting of HIE till we decide on active cooling (therapeutic hypothermia) should not be overdone as it may affect clinical assessment, as well as impact on cardiorespiratory adaptation of the newborn.
