If you’re still confused here’s an analogy that might be a bit easier to follow.

This graph looks like a lot but it's .5 of a degree. Look up Greenland Ice Core .. They took ice samples accurately showing Earth's climate going back 10, 000 years. Shows massive temperature swings. Way higher then what we have now and it shows the past few hundred years are actually the most stable our climate had been in those 10, 000 years.
