'What are your salary expectations' interview question for software developers

Has anyone ever actually gotten a job through Hatchways? Some of my very talented bootcamp friends thought they were applying for a job to actually work for this company. They were given extensive testing which was for a much higher level then the actual position. They were then told they weren't ready but they could take the $6000 training. Sounds like a big time bait and switch pay to play scam where the founders are preying on junior devs looking for work in an oversaturated field. On top of this, they claim to match struggling devs with start-ups and on their Instagram have drawings of candidates from foreign countries they got jobs in Canada. As someone who has worked in tech for over 25 years, I can tell you it's VERY difficult and a VERY long process to get someone through the paperwork needed to work in CA.

While I wouldn't agree with the wildly misinformed first comment I've gotta say that, after seeing the presenter's experience on LinkedIn, this isn't someone I would confidently take career or interview advice from.
