Dry Brushing is suggested to be a tool to help keep the lymphatic system healthy and moving. Dry brushing for lymphatic drainage is used by some to try and reduce swelling, but it's mostly used for skin health and signs of aging, via exfoliation. It's a tool for lymphatic drainage massage, as well, but must be used gently to avoid skin breakdown. Generally, most videos or blogs will tell you to brush towards the heart, but as a certified lymphedema therapist, I show you in this video how the lymphatic system works and what would be the best technique to do dry brushing for lymphedema or your lymphatic system to be most effective. It's important to note that Dry Brushing has anecdotal evidence only at this time, but if cleared by your provider and done safely, some may find benefit.
After creating the dry brushing video for the body (see link below), It was highly requested to show how to properly dry brush the face and neck. So, in this video, I show how the head and neck lymphatic system works and what would be the best technique to do dry brushing for your lymphatic system.

Hello everyone! I have taken the feedback from another video about remembering to pull my hair back and for all of the newer, face videos I have made this switch (along with removing all music). I appreciate the kind, respectful feedback. And going forward I’ll adjust it 😊 thank you for the grace as I still learn how to do this video thing! 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

Great videos and content! One interesting observation: you mention that dry brushing is a “new technique” for lymphatic drainage. It is relatively new in America, but it is an old ancient technique of Ayurveda used in India, about 2000 years old or more!

The first time I used a dry brush on my face, it was slightly sensitive. That quickly diminished in the following days. The stimulated feeling afterwards feels so good. I can't miss a day now. It has soften my skin texture as well. I wish I would have started this practice years ago. I appreciate tips on promoting proper lymph drainage. Thanks!

Dry brushing is very good for skin, it helps to tighten and smoothen skin. You will be amazed by the smoothness of your skin after brushing for a week. Cellulite will also look less prominent after sometime. It declogs pores, black heads and white heads also loosen. There are just too many benefits

I don’t have any problems . I just do these lymph drainage massage because my skin tone was uneven and my face gets so puffy from PCOS these massages make me feel beautiful I tried only for 3 days and I got many compliments from family that my face looks much slimmer and brighter . So I’m guessing this helps brighten skin.

I love the way you present your videos. Your explanations are thorough & to the point. Thanks for the tips regarding small strokes versus circular motion. The illustration that depicts the flow of drainage was particularly helpful.

Thank you! I could feel all of the lymph draining as I did this. Had to clear my throat so many times and when I was done I was soooo much less puffy 👍❤️

Thank you Kelly! I swear that I can feel immediate improvement. And that’s surprising, because so little pressure is being applied to the skin tissue. It’s hard to visualize what’s happening under the skin, in the lymphatic system—it’s hard to imagine that enough fluid is moving to make any difference. Yet, I can feel the effect, even if I can’t visualize it.

Using a mini trampoline or rebounder is hands-down the best thing you can do for your lymphatic system! Even a gentle ‘health bounce’ works. If you can, get a good one. 💕

Very good video. I'm an LMT and always do this method on the neck and face with my hand. Clients love it. The gentle light touch is very relaxing. Then I gently massage with Rosehip oil.

Thank you for this. I had a recent injury which resulted in major bruising throughout my face. The discoloration has lasted over a month and this exercise helped speed up the process and noticeable after just 2-3 days.
