Funny how doctors always have issues with natural ways to improve your health but will have no problem writing you a Prescription. Sorry if you have ever seen anyone who using a dry brush their skin looks amazing. Obviously someone with the skin condition shouldn’t be taking a brush over it. Common sense people

I just would like to comment, as I understand the concern with the skin thickening with continuous scratching.
However, the whole idea behind skin brushing is to not apply pressure that would cause abrasion or even cause redness.
I really hope you can do more research on lymphatic stimulation and the benefits.
Dry skin brushing has been a game changer for my body. The times I’ve been most consistent with it, my skin glows and my husband comments how soft it is. Besides that, it has helped with bloating, cellulite, and just a healthy body awareness in general. After 9 years no skin thickening here. Definitely not a practice I will ever quit.

Can't deny the fact that dry brushing helped my cellulites a lot, even a lot of most of dermatologist are not in favor of doing it. Just be mindful if you have skin issues of course.

Does physical exfoliation in the shower with a exfoliating glove also make the skin thicker in the long run and disturb the microbiome? what do you recommend as skin care on the body for people who wax their hair?

I dry brushing before my shower and I’m always told how soft my skin is. I love it.

Why did this pop up? But this was two years ago. However there have been dozens of studies, over a decade, about dry brushing. From small colleges, all the way up to Ivy Leagues. I’ve used dry brushing for many years & as a doctor, YES, she is correct about what she’s saying………😅 however, you’re NOT going to thicken your skin, “if” you’re exfoliating & using the brush correctly. But 90% of what this dermatologist is saying is just not true. So keep dry brushing & you’ll see all the benefits that everyone raves about👍🏼🫶🏼.

So how do chemical creams and lotions NOT disrupt the natural biome? This makes no sense.

Too bad what is said here doesn’t apply to me. I’ve done dry brushing religiously, for five years now, I’ve gotten nothing but good results. My health is better, & cellulite is better. 🙏🏽👍🏼

The hair flip at 1:53 says a lot. That body language tells me that she's uncomfortable with what she's about to say. I'm not buying this. I appreciate evidence-based medicine, but I'm tired of alternative means constantly being tossed aside. If dry brushing helps you in any way, by all means KEEP DOING IT.

Thank you. I was literally just about to buy a dry brush set and wasn’t even sure if it would actually benefit me. I watched your video and I am now more convinced that moisturizing is the way to go.

I'm an esthetician and I tell my clients all the time to stop dry brushing their genital area because the skin gets thick and the hair cannot grow out properly resulting in ingrown hairs. I usually advise them to use dry brushing only in areas where you desire to have thicker skin with less cellulite for example the upper thigh and arm, maybe even the abdomen but in moderation not all the time. I personally wish they would stop all together.

Wouldn't lichenification (thickening if the skin) be a benefit?
Over time aging causes the skin to become more thin, so wouldn't we want evenly distributed thicker skin?

I'm guessing this process happens because in the wild our ancestors skin grew thicker the more they brushed up against shrubs, trees rocks etc. It's just a protection barrier built stronger from our intelligent bodies.

If you could do a video about the health positives and negatives (not cosmetic negatives) of thickening skin, that'd be awesome too!
Just a question, thanks for your content.

This sounds like a review from someone who literally has never dry brushed a day in her life

Dry brushing is fabulous. Found my skin to be glowing soft and overall really helped the texture around the cellulite area. Didn't make it disappear just improved the smoothness in that area. Wouldn't recommend if you have any skin conditions though. I get a spot of psoriasis every now and them and I wouldn't do this over that. Definitely a soft natural bristle and light strokes. Your now trying to scratch your trying to move and in a sense stroke the skin. Should be called dry strokes.

Wow… I appreciate your knowledge, but alternative means of health can be amazing. Dry brushing has been around for centuries. It has multiple benefits. If done properly can be wonderful In multiple ways. It’s so sad that people that are not privy to alternative means speak with authority from their limited knowledge. Blessings to you darling

What should we use to get rid of dirt and dead skin if we're not gonna use any phsical techniques?

You are severely undereducated about what amyloidosis is. Honestly it's very upsetting. Amyloidosis is a disease in which there is a buildup of amyloid proteins in the heart, kidneys, liver, or other organs.

Amyloid is an abnormal protein that is usually produced in the bone marrow and can be deposited in any tissue or organ.
It is also a condition that can be terminal if not treated and a precursor to multiple myeloma.
It is NOT the thickening of skin caused by a back scratcher! I am very upset by this because my father had amyloidosis and it had to be treated with a chemo drug. My brother also developed it in association with actually being diagnosed with multiple myeloma! That is terrible to be diagnosing amyloidosis as a thickening of the skin from a back scratcher! It's a deadly disease for goodness sake!

What would you recommend to exfoliate the skin? I was considering dry brushing to help get rid of “strawberry skin”
