I spend a lot of time on this account talking about the differences between polyamory and monogamy. In reality, they're mostly the same.

"Healthy relationships require work."
"More healthy relationships require more work."

As I understand it (as a monogamous person on a journey of discovery about polyamory) the most significant difference isn't behavioral, that's just the part that's easiest to see from the outside. The real difference is monogamy treating romantic love and intimacy as distinct and """sacred""" relationship types that require special rules and restrictions. Attaching concepts like morality and virtue to who we love, and how, and under what circumstances we're allowed to do so. Which is fine if that's what makes you and your partner comfortable, but it's not some kind of immutable, universal law, it's a choice.

Feedback welcome, I'm still learning!
