polyamory vs. open relationship - What's the difference?

There's definitely overlap, and sometimes people use both terms. Everyone's relationships vary a bit and that's okay!

I would add that a polyamorous relationship can be "closed" in that one can have multiple relationships and not want more than those they have.

Thank you, I am solo polyamorous right now and sometimes it feels invalidating cause on paper it just looks like an open relationship<3 a lot of people just don't understand we can love more than one person and it's rough

I have been using the "non-monogamous" label because its been hard to tell what what label would be correct. So i went so vague to avoid the wrong label. I think polyamory is correct. My husband and i have been sleeping around but also dating around together and separately. Problem we find is they rarely wanna be serious
