I love how he doesn’t get all bent out of shape because HBO can’t deliver what he’s written exactly in the books. He understands that TV shows have budgets and schedules to keep. Like he says he can write whatever he wants on paper but when someone says how much it would cost to bring it to life he understands why it can’t be done.

I'd love to see asoiaf animated series that sticks religiously to the books. That way they could include all the details like this without having to worry about budget constraints.

Love the “Ozymandius” reference, especially given the point of that great Shelley poem. He must be just so full of knowledge and he obviously loves slipping little hints like that.

You need to look at the Iron Throne in the TV show from the DP's perspective. They could have made it huge, tall with a bunch of steps, it wouldn't have cost that much more to do it that way, its all plywood and rubber anyways. But think about trying to get the shots, its hard to film a conversation between two people when one person is 15 feet on a platform above the other person. Also if the king(or queen) wants to whisper something to one of their advisers standing next to them, its kind of impossible if you're way up in the air.
