I bet he was thrilled when he learned he was collaborating on a project that would allow him to kill the audience this time around.

GRRM: This NPC will die here, which makes a shocking moment to the player.
Miyazaki: The player will die here, which makes a shocking moment to the player.

Seeing him smirk when talking about monster designs and special effects they showed him, really made me happy. He seems so genuinely happy about it and I love hearing he's excited to see it done.

Fromsoft: So we're making a game.
GRRM: Can characters that people care about die?
Fromsoft: Actually, we'd like around 80% to 90% of any character you might form any slight bond with die, suffer horribly, or have an ending that makes the player really sad ... or all of those in no specific order.
GRRM: Say no more.

I imagine GRRM trying out Dark Souls when they hired him for Elden Ring

"Let's see what type of story they want Elden Ring to be based on"

> dies 20 times to asylum demon

"I don't really consider myself a video gamer"

Martin: "it's a sequel to dark souls"

Fromsoftware: "no, shhhh!!! Don't say that! You can't say that yet!"

"Where is winds of winter?"

George: "Please play Elden Ring and die a thousand deaths."

The fact that he couldn’t name it middle earth so he literally called it “the lands between”😂😂😂

That fact that an actual legit interviewer was asked to talk to Martin about Elden Ring means the world is becoming a better place

The way he dodged giving his opinion on the GoT show was actually impressive.

"Fame is definitely a double-edged sword." He's no doubt referring to all those people who stand outside his house with knives, screaming "Finish the bloody book, George!"

george didn’t work on the story but rather the foundation (tarnished, lands between, and names of characters) miyazaki and his team crafted such amazing levels and gameplay. truly a great mixture of creativity

He just confirmed it's a sequel. Up next: Guilermo del Toro makes a sequel to Bloodborne

I like how he smiles when he talks about how they show him monsters and affects they have done for the game. He seems to love to see his imagination come to life c:

The more I think about this, the more it seems like the most brilliant way to write a fantasy story. Hiring someone to write the backstory lore, then going from there. Genius.

Imagine the company pitching the GRR.
GRR: "That's all good but what's the most important part of the game"
Devs: "You die a lot"
GRR: "Shit that's all u had to say man"

Imagine him saying "The game will be coming in January" before the SGF Elden Ring trailer released. The community would be wild

It's funny when George says "Videogames takes a long time to make." Haven't we been waiting for 10 years for a book?
