13:20 "...it takes time to see this, that the physical symptoms of anxiety aren't as bad as you think they are". People with OCD/Anxiety disorders don't believe this, but this is really KEY. It does take time, and for some a heck of a lot of time, but it really is the key like you said Nick ! Once you do this, you really start "learning" to not be afraid.

Nick, thank you again for these invaluable videos. So insightful for me, about ‘trying’ to use other means (meditation, compulsions, confession) to ‘make’ the anxiety go away. Coincidentally, similarly, we do have some commonalities, I’ve had body dysmorphia with gym issues for years (and I mean years) and I am an avid hiker (not extreme climber like you), I’m 61 now and in the best shape of my life. Have hiked GC Rim to Rim with a friend and last year on my own, just did Zion Virgin narrows Top-Down (very very challenging and traumatic, started hyperventilating at one point, much too intimidating with hiking full time in rapids at the time) etc etc. Partner stayed cool the whole time as he does not have OCD/anxiety issues. Anyway, I’ve always known I’ve had OCD, or ‘issues’ (OCD not really examined nearly in depth as it is now back in the 80’s, 90’s). Sorry for the long comment, but my question is: do you ever have senior groups for folks who are around my age who have had fear of fear forever. Yes, I guess I’m looking for comfort here I guess, lol, but would make a big difference to me and perhaps others of my age. Or maybe it’s just an excuse to put it off 😀. Who knows, just a thought. Thanks for listening and careful on those climbs! Andrew

Thanks Nick! My recovery jorney started almost a year ago when I accidentally saw your video about "ups and downs". I was hopeless back then. Now I live life I always was afraid to be living. I'm still in my jorney but it's okay I don't need to be fully recovered right now. I have a lot of happy moments and I appreciate them as never before. So thanks again you so actively make these great videos for us!

nick is it possible for your brain to bring forward eye floaters. Sometimes they are not there but other times they are. all the other fears are with me also but the one i fear most are the eye floaters. before this started i didnt have them.
