What if Germany Never United?

Anyone could tell you that Germany has had a major impact on recent history, from being a dominant power in both World Wars, and a center for conflict during the Cold War. But, if it wasn't for a couple of key events during the 19th Century, Germany, as we know it, never would have even existed. It wasn't until 1871 when the Kingdom of Prussia managed to wage several wars, and unite the German states into the German Empire that a United Germany truly came into being. But, what if, in an alternate timeline, Germany had never united? Enjoy!

well.... There actually WAS a german kingdom waaaay back when the frankish empire was split into three (east francia, with the coming of the ottonians started refering to themselves as the german kingdom) but it did get dissolved some time after the passing of the hohenstaufens..

I would have liked to see a description of a war between Prussia/Italy/Russia and France/Austria. I'd think that would be an interesting. Also, how would France dominate Europe if Britain was its enemy? I'd think any attempt by France to dominate Europe would be crushed by Britain, just as they crushed Germany iotl

What if Austria pushed for the establishment of a Rhenish Kingdom after the fall of Napoleon, including the Austrian Netherlands and potentially Elsaß Lothringen in order to create one large buffer - fulfilling the role of Belgium but on a greater scale. The king would be Frederick William of Nassau-Weilburg, ensuring good relations with the Netherlands and being Catholic he would likely be favoured by France and Austria. Prussia would need to be compensated, however, so probably parts of either Hanover or Denmark. Not entirely realistic, but it is interesting.

This is amazing, Josh; I really like the scenario with the Second French Empire managing to become the dominant power and reclaim France's glory and the French people's pride and respect. I don't think France's expansion into Germany will not cause another Great War because France got what it needed as the Rhine Land is now France's possession and could allow Austria to fill the role to expand into Germany and might lead the Hapburgs to restore the Holy Roman Empire but more centralized, modern, and mixture of a hybrid government of a republic and empire. But this is great content, Josh; keep up the terrific work, and you deserve respect and recognition for your hard work and passion for making these alternate history videos; I really mean it!

Here is an exciting idea for a future Alternate History video: What if Pedro I of Brazil was a Good Emperor and hadn't abdicated to the throne, leaving his son, Dom Pedro II, to have the childhood he deserved?
