I've been doing those and they are excellent and I got rid of those ridiculously padded shoes. I switched to barefoot shoes with zero drop and that has improved my balance and all of the muscles in my feet. they are not for everybody but too much padding in the heel and the toe section of your shoe scrunching your toes into a corner is not great. Barefoot shoes have minimal padding and a very large area for your toes to flex and provide greater balance.
