Everyone is saying how fast they wear down. They are only meant for grass and weed, not for thicker brush, branches or small saplings. No one said you can hit hard surfaces with them. Use them properly and they will work like a charm.

Used these blades a few times, last summer. Near any metal or brick type of edging, FORGET IT. They DO get torn up FAST. Plain grass /basic weeds, no problems.

I went through two of these in a very short period of time and had to return both of them for an exchange on the first and then a refund on the second. The entire head and blades are made of plastic and do not last for long. In my case the plastic head itself broke on the first head after only approximately eight uses, and one of the plastic mounting pins for the blades broke on the second head after only two uses. I bought both at HD for my Ryobi 18v trimmer and they got only light use in a small suburban lawn. The problem is, the higher stress parts like the mounting pins the blades are mounted on need to be made of metal, not plastic. If while they're spinning the plastic blades hit anything solid, including the ground, what you're trimming around, etc, something will soon break, and it's almost impossible to use it as a trimmer without ever hitting anything.

I been looking everywhere. And I tried these before they don’t last long trying to cut around bishes or close along the fence or house. But wanted to ask if you can do a video on the universal ones I been seeing say it works on all trimmers. It’s a real metal blade or there’s one I seen that has real sharp brissels or whatever lol. I’m trying to figure out how to instal one knowing the trimmer has the plastic thing you see that the dual blade clips on but somehow that needs to be removed somehow for the universal blades.

A true test of this brush heads ability would be to drive out of town
on a country road & stop at a bridge & start whacking the weeds &
brush which have been growing wild for 40 years. Your county
would appreciate the help.

Where did you get that wheel on the left hand side of your trimmer? Is it available for the 40 volt string trimmer?

but when the blades broke there is no option to remove them since they are attached to it no screws, I had to order a different head, blades & with screws & bolts ! but I love my battery power Trimmer !

I've seen blades made of metal like a chainsaw blade for weed wackers.

I just inherited a 18 volt one and those heads with the short blades fit better they need to make them longer for the bigger ones like yours

just a helpful suggestion, you did not cover *HOW* to install new blades, and moreover, how *LONG* those plastic blades last, when just trimming, no edging....????

it the hard way. Worked ONE TIME then broke the pins on the head itself on the second use. Stay away. This is poorly thought out product. If this is the best Ryobi can do? SHAME ON THEM. Very disappointed.

Your alternative is not the same shape. We have been trying to find the ACFHRL2 for months, and it has been out of stock. Nothing else is compatible with our model 40 volt RY40210A. Did Ryobi just forget about their customers???

Is it possible to use this bladed trimmer with a Black and Decker 20 volt cordless string trimmer? Would it fit?
