The Sith may have detested Dark Jedi, but they clearly found them useful during Revan’s time. Malak clearly enjoyed dispatching on damn near every planet in KOTOR 1.

Kind of hilarious one of the site's gripes with dark jedi is about how they can't be trusted.. a very hilarious irony seeing how many times they've betrayed their own

"I hate Jedi, and these fallen ones are worse! They always get into the academy, and they think they're better than the rest of us!"
-Sith student in the Korroban academy, KOTOR 1

a concept i always liked, was the idea of light sided sith, Sith that use the dark side for good or the greater good, like Revan, or darth cadues

Sith principal dictates that they are the true dark side wielder, so naturally they hate everyone else

Itd be cool if they made a sith series. Shows how the sith species started off on korriban and shows when the first groups fallen jedi came to their world and how they changed the sith species into the sith way.

Dark Jedi are underrated. Ventress, Savage, and Kylo Ren as well as Inquisitors are all prominent examples.

Basically the Dark Jedi are like "The Ronin".

Thank you, been looking forward to this. I like the idea of Fan Fiction of Maul being Dark Jedi, Ahsoka being Grey Jedi starting a twin order on Dathomir. That way they can use both kinds of Holocrons. Use both sides to learn and defend each other while training with and protection with Mandolorians and Bounty Hunters. Talk about Steel sharpen Steel.

Interesting explanation. The more I learn about this the more I realize a lot of the writing is heavily focused on eroding all sense of individuality. Sometimes I think applying all these titles just diminishes any sense that each character is meant to be a person. They are all force users sure but the subject of 'completing their training' just seems like a means of erasing their individuality for power whether it's Sith or Jedi. I honestly believe many people would actually walk away from such lifestyles and choose to live in seclusion to complete their training with the force on their own. I'd much prefer stories about non-affiliated force users and conscious ai who don't want to accept slavery. Seems to me that would make a surprisingly good story since it's more relatable. Each of the factions could be shown to try to recruit them and the mistakes of either choice. Free droids would offer an interesting perspectives on alien life forms and how they simply survive independently could be a great way to flesh out the Star Wars universe.

It’s also very different to fall or be born to the dark side

Some sith were dark jedi.but the greatest sith were never "tainted" by the teachings of the jedi.

so the sith issue with dark jedi is that they're rouge agents? sith can trust other sith to follow the sith code, sith can trust jedi to behave like jedi, dark jedi are a wild card, they cant be categoried which makes them a nuisance for the sith to plan around.

Wouldn’t Freedon Nadd, Exar Kun, Darth Caedus, Darth Revan, Darth Kyrat, the First Dark Jedi like Ajunta Pall etc be considered Dark Jedi and weren’t they some of the most powerful Darksiders in History

They need to get rid of that term if it does not apply to Jedi who were banished or fell from the light side. But showed little to no promise as a Sith Lord. I always found darts and I to be very interesting, especially in the novelizations.

Glad you mentioned Darth Plagueis. Tell us where to read more about Darth Zannah.

This was George, and later KK, being particularly Lazy with the Lore. Maul and Savage really shouldn't fall into this Category, and Ventress Shouldn't Either. She was a Sith Assassin like Maul and Savage, and Lucasfilm was at their most Idiotic when they made this Canon to Both Continuities.

Maul is a sith, not a dark Jedi. Even in legends he wouldn't qualify. Rule of two or not he was outright raised a sith. He might be classed as a "light sith" like we see in the old republic.

You missed a very important part of the First Schism. Their were multiple groups that broke off from the Jedi Order. The Dark Jedi, The Gray Jedi and numerous others. Who the Galaxy forgot about.
