Personally? I'd train Grey Sith. Seek to become great in every way, do this alone and together. Revel in your power and the freedom it grants you. Do not fear to prove your strength... but remember who our real enemies are.

My sith order would have a sith warrior that could be a dark Jedi or sith, an assassin that could also be a dark jedi or a sith, they would just simply be place holders and nothing more, then a legitimate apprentice who would be trained to over throw the master and relay orders and handle the assassin and the warrior, and the master who would control it all, they would operate in the shadows, they would learn aspects of the light side in order to better understand there enemy, but they also be a good mix of old and new, powerful warriors, powerful force users, use force magic and alchemy similar to the ancient sith, but manipulate the galaxy from the shadows by becoming political leaders, scientists, and business men, In my sith order an assasin could become a warrior if powerful enough, a warrior could become an apprentice if powerful enough, an apprentice could become a master if powerful enough, with the ultimate end goal to be each master more powerful than the one before!

To keep them in check?
First, i would have to become more powerful then they were ( my first apprentice) and make sure that it stayed that way. Make sure that they know that im powerful.
Then, I get a second apprentice and train them just like i did the first.
Then i relinquish all formal possitions of power to the apprentice that claims it. I vow to serve the winner to all extrents (with exception being self deletion or mutilation) and then serve as a secondary and unspoken leader from the shadows and backround.

This does a couple things, first it assures that my apprentice, now master, will never have a need or even inclination to find another apprentice and replace me. For they would know that i am stronger then most, even them, even if its not outspoken or even acknowledged by others.
Second, it keeps their need, greed and want for power relevant and satiated for they have it, anymore power cannot be stolen or taken, at least not from you, for you have alrdy relinquished it. If they want more power or to actually be more powerful than you, then they have to earn it, which they have every right to train and try to do. But so do you, and you alrdy supass your "apprentice"/master.
Its a win win. be emporor p without the title. Just chill and let vader do his thing.

What's the timeline of Maul/Duku/Sidius? When was each Sidius' apprentice? Was Maul ever a Sith or just a dark Jedi? Wasn't Duku already working with Sidius while Maul was the apprentice?

i love the concept of dark jedi and grey jedi bc they actually make alot of sense and wish they were canon bc technically they are not in canon even tho we know characters that are perfect suitors for these 2 roles of force wielders like ahsoka tano is a grey jedi and asajj ventress is a dark jedi

I personally think the sith will eventually go extinct because eventually they will have no successors left due to the damage the rule of 2 caused i mean sure its had its perks but it seems to also be far less effecient than a whole council of sith lords despite the infighting and the rule of 2 has killed any chance of that returning but dark jedi will never go away. Dark jedi seem like they would of existed with or without the influence of the sith it was a matter of when not if.
