Interesting that they only surveyed managers and not the actual employees.

You can find this same story reported on fox just 10 years ago. Just replace "Gen Z, " with "millenial"

How dare gen z ask to be treated with respect and be able to feed themselves.

“Lack of technological skills, that one surprised me!”

Really? You know watching TikTok videos and creating videos, playing video games doesn’t make you proficient at Excel or programming.

It’s like when grandma says: “You’re gonna be a computer scientist someday” when you plugged in the Super Nintendo properly.

We aren’t hard to work with. We just set boundaries and we’re not easy to exploit and we’re not easy to manipulate.

yes, let's call them difficult and not pay them a liveable wage. that will encourage them to work for you.

I think it has more to do with how the generation before us “gen z” did NOTHING to improve the work force and instead let it degrade into what we have. We are surviving not living. 20 years ago you could live off of a wage. Now you need 2 jobs to pay for student debt, food, rent, gas because you have to drive everywhere, water, dont forget maintenance on your home you rent not own, on your car you likely are paying off and dont own, god forbid you want to go to the doctor. Better be homeless cause thats the only way you get healthcare without crippling your bank account. There is so much we have to fix and we are being talked down to for complaining about a work OUR parents and their parents created.

Hard to work with translates to: they know their rights and their worth and refuse to be mistreated by a boss who couldn’t give two shits about them.

Generation Z is not less motivated to go to work, but has different priorities.

Instead of seeing the meaning of life in going to work and earning money, young people place more value on leisure and activities outside of work.

It is not the salary that motivates Gen Z, but rather the enjoyment of the job, self-fulfillment or the opportunity to organize one's working hours flexibly.

So, for example, a young person today would be more likely to take a job that suits her or his interests and that allows the person to start working later or stop working earlier.

In my opinion it's a good development to pay more attention to yourself and have the courage to make demands about your work instead of working all your life in a job that you don't enjoy, just to earn enough money to be able to afford the bare necessities.

For this reason, I believe that the older generation can even learn from Gen Z at this point.

The real problem is that our society is very prejudice. It is so easy to group specific people together and call them names all because of your own bad experiences. We are forgetting that not all people are the same, some Gen Z people can be respectful, hard working and so on. It depends on how someone was raised and what kind of a person they are.

Older people have been griping about younger people since time immemorial. Generations following their own are described as too cautious, too dangerous, too worried, too self absorbed, and yes, too lazy. From the 4th Century, Aristotle noted the young, “think they know everything and are quite certain about it”, that youth, “are high minded because they have not been humbled by life, nor have they experienced the force of circumstances”, to a French magazine in 1771, “a race of effeminate, self admiring, emaciated Fribbles”, to an author in 1925 describing young people as, “grossly thoughtless, rude and utterly selfish”, to a 1951 description of “pampered youth”, to Boomers who are, “whiny and too politically passive”on down to Millennials and generation X er’s who are reportedly, “phone addicted, self obsessed, hash tagging, snap chatting, kale munching, twerking, lazy, whining, ill informed, politically correct, cosseted narcissists, who find absolutely everything mortally offensive and believe there is 165 ways to sexually identify”. In other words, all generations are a product of their environment and circumstances of the world that shaped them. Yet somehow, we manage to survive.

As a millennial, The boomer generation is way more difficult to work with. Unable to adapt, throwing tantrums for not getting their way, and a total superiority complex. Seems as if they’re afraid of the innovations that gen z has to offer.

I love my gen z coworkers, they teach me new things all the time and I’m sorry that previous generations have failed you guys.

They were the most fun. We had to knuckle down when we got busy, but we had each others backs. I was at least 15 years older than them and i got their respect and they got mine. I was a working example, I would do the same work as them.

2 of my colleagues are gen z and i agree. They are bossy, dishonest and easily offended. If you do not agree with their worldview, they immediately call the manager 😅
They have a strong black/white thinking and lack the courage to discuss something with other people. I will most likely decide to not speak with them until it is necessary.
