LOL yes. I am millennial. I had a Gen z friend come over. I was cleaning up and getting ready. I didn’t even have my phone on me cause I figured he’d just knock and I’d hear it. I was getting way way more cleaning done then I expected and I saw my clock and realized he was pretty late. I finally checked my phone and saw a couple messages that he was here and just waiting silently outside my door. I was so confused. That’s the day I learned Gen z is allergic to knocking on doors.

That's not only Gen z, so many of my millennial friends can't knock on the damn door, I'll jump thru my friends balcony inside their house and make breakfast but they can't even honk when they arrive.

What I do is that I announce my arrival very formally over text but knock when I arrive, so I write the text before I get there and send the text like "I formally announce my humble arrival and request safe passage through thou domain." And then I knock on the door normally

I just tell them I'm there a minute or two before I am. We stopped knocking on doors because we can instantly communicate through walls, so no door needs to be knocked.
