Salaries for the same work:
Boomers- £300, 000
Gen X - £200, 000
Millenials- £30, 000
Gen Z- £16, 000

Boomer & Gen X -"why doesnt anyone want to work hard anymore?"

Corporations killed company loyalty. Shareholders and quarterly profits are king. The younger generation is smart too. They witnessed first hand what happened to their grandparents and parents that devoted their life to the company. layoffs, 401k lost, retirements robbed, pensions not enforced, Companies moved out of the US, not paying taxes, Importing foreign workers using H1B visa's ... MBA disease took over; cost cutting and cooking the books, stock buyback to inflate earnings is all that matter now and they know it. Capitalism was hijacked the social contract of common decency was removed. This happens when family businesses are sold to corporations. Remember a corporation is a only piece of paper with the legal status in court of a human. A piece of paper doesn't care and a perfect place to hide...

As an elder of gen z making 20$ an hour working 46 hours a week, i cant get through the screening process to find a place to live because i don't make enough money. At 20$ an is a total disgrace and I'm thankful to be young enough to watch it burn.

Me (gen z) when I've spent most of my adult life working 60-70 hour a week blue collar jobs, with Heavier production quotas that my grandfathers generation had, for a fifth of the equivalent pay after inflation. But im lazy if i only do what my job description states, or take a day off for myself.

If you want hard workers pay better, and be loyal to your employees. Loyalty is a 2 way street.

I'm gen z and work 40 hours a week. I can barely afford my flat and I sleep on a mattress on the floor because I can't afford a bed frame.

Don't expect your employees to give a shit when they probably can't even afford a basic home with what you're paying them.

I remember the 80s when companies actually appreciated their employees.

Us Millenials don't stay in bed til 12pm 🤦‍♂️ We get up, buy coffee like Gen Z then arrive late at the office, then work hard and and leave the office late like Boomers 😂

Yeh except we expect younger people to work for far less than previous generations when adjusted for inflation and often times working more efficiently over longer hours with less benefits and higher rents

No one works a nine to five job anymore, they’ve increased the average hours to 8:00-6:00.

And saying that the younger generation is lazy has been happening since there have been platforms to discuss it.

I’m a millennial that’s in charge of indirectly supervising a lot of our boomer/Gen X demographic. Out of all the 10 years working at my office setting, I’ve seen employees come and go. However, take a wild guess which group of employees call off or try and get away with doing minimal work the most……………………. Boomers and Gen X employees 🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃

Gen z makes sense as a gen z’er because money just grows on trees and none of us go to work

As a Millennial, I say fuq it.
Find a way to develop a skill that will get you rich & live life to the full.
The system enslaves you if you dont find a way to get rich and get free

Yeah I’m Gen Z and am very proud to see my generation reject work.

Let’s not forget that the boomer generation is the hippie generation.
Turn on, tune in and drop out.
I don’t know about you but smoking weed al day and driving around in flowery VW bus doesn’t sound that productive to me.

I’m gen z I had to move out at 17 to escape my gen x parents and I now work a 14/hour job paying rent and bills and still trying to go to school and finish up senior year so I can finally go to the military because boomers and gen x created a world with no opportunities and no money to go around. But I guess Gen z is just lazy tho 🤪

People in their 20's have always been broke. Gen Z acts like they're the first to experience this.

Yeah, as a millenial I can confirm that it simply isn't worth the effort to even look for a job anymore as working pays so little it can't even compete with the shocking UK benefits. So my choices are- freeze over the winter whilst not working or work really hard and freeze over the winter! I feel more pride in not being a slave than in being exploited ytoxic work culture that pushes working as being required for a sense of pride- even if it is scrubbing toilets for some dick head who drives a Ferrari while I suffer!
