No denying the economy is in a bad way, but something that's not happened before is the addiction to social media, and how stunningly damaging it is.

I personally blame TikTok, Facebook, Twitter and all those other so-called social media that leaves Gen-Z with the average attention span of a goldfish.

There are a small group of Gen Z who are old school who have no interest in the woke nonsense that surrounds them.

I’m Gen X (57). I’ve been told NO so many times in my life I’ve lost count. I’ve been ridiculed and bullied and was told to suck it up and fight back. I’ve been lost, stranded and abandoned. I’ve been addicted, jailed and penalized. I’ve paid dues, fines and fees. I’ve been broke and nearly homeless, but always had a job waiting for me. I’ve sat on the bench, but occasionally got to play in the game. Life is a roller coaster made entirely by your decisions and the grace of God. Enjoy the ride through the hills and valleys.

When I was an overnight stocker at Sam's Club I was in my 50s. There were some people who were in their 20s, gym rats with muscles on their muscles, who whined about how hard the work was. And it was serious physical labor. But I told those wimps, "My kids are older than you, and I'm doing this job." They didn't like hearing that.

The biggest cause of this is electronic, handheld screens given to children.

The driving force behind the enfeeblement of Generation Z comes down to two things:
1. Fathers not being present in the home
2. Fathers who are present in the home, but who are so emasculated that they might as well be absent.

MY grandmother lived through the Depression, WW2, and endless personal challenges. She was always smiling and laughing and had a dozen grandkids who all loved her. This gen is insane.

As a gen, I can tell you social media plays a big role
1. You compare yourself 24/7 with rich people with surgeries that do nothing like the kardashians
2. Through social media the politicize everything (religion, books, movies, relationships, identity)
3. Less attentions span so they can not focus for long that make working even harder
4. The economy is bad but social media remind us every second
5. The dopamine is not in control, so we don't get pleasure like normal people
6. Everything is link to sexuallity, that link to more p*rn addiction, and people are less likely to get a partner
7. The new trend to play the victim in social media

as a GenZ, I think our bad shape isnt primarily about hardships, its about sick unnatural social changes because of technology, social media and all of that. That isolation, uncertainty, and endless possibilities on each step are pushing us into nihilism and maddness, at least the weakest of us. We often grow up thinking that life is bad and pointless and from that point any hardship starts to be unbeareable because it's being withstand for nothing, for life that I don't even want, just surviving in fear of what torture comes next

Gen-Z here, and I have been through some horrible shit in my life, but I haven't allowed it to do whatever it is doing to these other snowflakes. It's plain and simple: my generation is just feeling extremely entitled, and depending on the environments that they're raised in, that gives them this idea that they're something special. It's just pathetic, honestly.

Gen z grew up in the internet/social media era.

This profoundly affected them in one way or the other.

Gen Z was weak long before the current inflation or covid. Another cause of Gen Z anxiety is their sense of entitlement.

During a chat about this topic, with a friend, her daughter (aged 19) began to get personally offended and stated that her generation are the best, most intelligent and creative generation, and that our generation (in my 40s) are outdated and we dont know whats going on.
I asked her 'what can your generation do that ours cant?'
She tried several answers. Each one was completely wrong.
When she asked 'OK, so what can your generation do that mine cant?'
Answer was 'to start with, we can have a conversation without getting angry, upset or defensive, we can approach an issue with reason, rather than shouting and protesting before we understand both arguments, and we can show respect and manners'
No lie, her response: 'oh wow, really useful. Can you edit a tiktok?'

It isn’t the kids fault, it’s ours. It was our responsibility to provide an environment conducive to development into adulthood. We didn’t do that.

Gen X here. We suffered through the same stuff. We called it "becoming an adult" and didn't need medication to make it through.

As others have pointed out, part of the problem is the absence of fathers, and another obvious problem is the obsession by the young with social media. Another serious problem comes from the predictable, but ignored, repercussions of the Cultural Marxist lunacy that breaks down and deflates young heterosexual men, who have always been the backbone of Western civilization. What has come along with that is the imposition of burdensome high expectations on young women who are expected to be ambitious and to put career ahead of family, even if they have no desire or talent for that. And all the sexual confusion by the promotion of the LGBQT lifestyle is the final nail in the coffin.

Actually, Matt, I think it IS “that bad”. I’m 78. When I was 19 I rented a studio apartment utilities included for 12 bucj a week. I drove a SEVEN year old Pontiac Chieftain that cost me five hundred bucks. Gas was about thirty cents a gallon. I could give guitar lessons at a local music store and make six times minimum wage….CASH. I had a job that paid 1.95 an hour and I could 12:49 easily make another 150 a month playing in a band at local bars and dances.

These kids are reaching maturity in a nation under siege from within.

Yeah buddy….. it’s that bad. These kids are living a cultural collapse.

As someone who had real panic attacks for a year (the needing the breathe into the paper bag, the body mimicking heart attack symptoms, etc), I have a feeling that these kids have just decided to redefine the term. They feel a little nervous or sad and call that a panic attack. That's what happens when the entire society decides that disfunction and mental illness is cool and trendy.

As a Gen-Z'er myself I have to say that listening to Matt Walsh is good for my mental health.
