How to Decrease Aggressive Behavior & Boundary Testing: Setting Limits with a Child in Public (2020)

In today's video I answer TWO questions related to limit setting in public! One mom had a question about how to navigate boundary testing when around other children at the park and another mom had a question about how to handle when another child is aggressive towards your child. This situation is tricky because it's her nephew and she wants to protect him from being spanked by his parents.

Whether in public or at home, we want to make sure we are being consistent about setting boundaries so our child knows what to expect. In both scenarios I share specific recommendations on how to set boundaries with your child and other children so that you are predictable and consistent in your parenting.

Thank you Dr. Jazmine for making this!! I’ve been struggling to find the gentle parenting response to a cousin pushing without wanting to overstep.. I love all of your advice and how you make it easy to understand & so accessible. Thanks for all you do!!!

My son does grab toys from other kids and they always break down and cry for a long time and I feel so bad! I try to keep him from taking anything from them but he's a few months under two and I do think he's just trying to engage? But they're never going to want to have playdates if this is what happens the whole time 🙈
