I'll show you how you can relieve tension in your neck and shoulders instantly.

To relieve tension in the neck and shoulders, we'll do some simple stretches that will relax the muscles in your neck, shoulders, and the muscles between your shoulder blades. Namely, the trapezius muscles, and the rhomboids.
The first stretch is to raise your shoulders up, like you're trying to touch your shoulders to your ears. Squeeze the trapezius muscles and hold that tension for 4-5 seconds. Then with an exhale, let the shoulder gently drop and relax. Let the shoulders stay relaxed for 10 seconds or so. Do do a couple neck rolls. Rotate one way, then the other. This will help release tension in your tight neck and shoulders
The next stretch is to pull your shoulders back, and squeeze your shoulder blades together, like you're trying to hold a pencil between them. Hold that tension between your shoulder blades for 4-5 seconds. Then with an exhale, gently bring the shoulders forward, and let the shoulder blades relax.
You can repeat these stretches as many times as you need. And get a feel for squeezing the muscles for 4-5 seconds, then relaxing them for 8-10 seconds.
