EPISODE: 215
Christians are quick to say, “Christ died for me.” But often times they forget that Christ also lived for them. Namely, Christ is not only the Cross-bearer for our sin but also the Law-keeper for our righteousness.

What does this mean for Christians and the Law (the Ten Commandments)? Since the Law is fulfilled by Christ does it still have a purpose for Christians? If we’re not saved by our obedience but by faith alone, how should we think of the Moral Law? In this episode of Real Christianity, Pastor Dale Partridge answers these questions and more as he continues his teaching through Romans 3:28-31.

Dale, thank you for this. I am probably tracking on 90% of what you have said. However, please consider that many online teachers such as yourself have mischaracterized the Hebrew roots movement. I have listened to many, many such HR teachers and not one of them believe that law-keeping contributes to salvation at all, but rather is a loving and obedient response to it…just as you have so stated. Shalom brother

When you say the law, are you referencing the 613 commands? Or just the 10 commandments? Like you ended with, if we attempt to be more like Christ that would mean attempting to keep the law. I can understand the 10 commandments but if that opens to all 613 that’s seems very different.

i disagree with your statement that everyone is "under the jurisdiction fo the law" the law was given to israel. "Gentiles do not have the law" neither do they know it. we are all under the law of sin "we reap what we sow" and we have a conscience. Paul on Mars Hill doesnt use the law to expose idolatry. he appeals to common sense that idolatry is "foolishness" and God is just and gracious but has set aside a day when he will judge the world in righteousness. PAUL APPEALS TO REASON, COMMON SENSE, NATURE, AND CONSCIENCE when dealing with Gentiles. they didnt have the ten commandments to know that idolatry was punishable by death for ISRAELITES under the law of Moses.
