Full body split is seriously underrated.

I’m doing this right now and I find I’ve grown a lot quicker and get less sore after workouts 👍🏼👍🏼 people should consider this or at least try it out once

i understand the concept….but mentally i don’t think i’d be satisfied with only getting three sets for one particular muscle each day.

Mike mentzer was a big believer in the 3-4 day a week training, I personally love this training cause I feel frickin awesome with all the added rest

I’m all for full-body workouts. So many benefits, but only if you are going for yourself. If you are a professional i.e body builder or a strong person. Splits are the way as you do need more recovery, you also have time to go 5-6 times a week.

You only need to do 8-10 exercises with heavy weights or body weight. Hit each body part in one day for 2 or 3 days a week and you can keep it consistent. For example I do

quads 1 exercise
hamstrings 1 exercise
calves 1 exercise
chest 2 exercises
back 2 exercises
shoulders 2 exercises
abs 1 exercise

You can superset some exercises to save time if you wanted to fit in biceps and triceps. I don’t mainly because I train heavy so my biceps and triceps get enough work from heavy back and chest exercises.

Focus on enjoying the process and eating to fuel your workouts and get 6-8 hours sleep every night. Keep it simple and you will see results everything is too complicated mainly due to people wanting more money from you.

I hope this helps someone and keep up the hard work, it does pay off. Also if you feel sore or tired just take another rest day and eat/drink loads, your body will be fine!

to compliment this man here, i think i can help a bit with doing full body workouts, at least in the 3 days a week formula:
push: Dips, OHP, Dumbbell/Barbell bench, Tricep extensions
pull: Pull-ups, Power cleans, Dumbbell/Barbell rows, barbell curls
Legs: Squats, RDLs, Split squats, one leg RDL, calf-raise

You can try to rotate the moves to your desire, but i recommend to always have curls, tricep extensions and calf raises as they need more work and can nerf your performance in the long term

Personally I’m on a full body split. 2 of them I use to lift heavy and the third day I really like to focus on bodyweight or calisthenics exercises. I’m getting ready for special forces selection in September so my main focus is lifting heavy ass weight and carrying weight for long periods of time as well as doing movements such as rope climbs or calisthenics since the first week is gonna have a long ass obstacle course.

I’m so used to thrashing my muscles, but when I switched to full body 5x a week I noticed similar gains in strength and ofc size if not slightly better. But im running a program that has lower rest times to keep a similar level of challenge tha5 I’m used to and it’s definitely improving my fitness

I’ve started a new full-body routine recently and really enjoying it. I want to make working out super easy and do it in a way I can workout anywhere and any time. Here’s my routine if anyone wants to try it:

Squats
Deadlifts

Pull-ups
Pushups

Leg raises
Lateral raises

You can get away with just doing this but if you want to you can add in 1 more leg and 1 more back. I would add Calve raises and Rows or another push exercise would be dips. You can add these depending on your goals. The 6 exercises will hit a lot of your main muscle groups using compound movements.

If I’m doing bodyweight or bands I do 50 reps if I’m using weights I do 30 reps per exercise. Keep it simple and be consistent and you’ll grow!

I tried full body after watching your videos this weekend and it was fantastic. I have to mentally make myself not want to do 3 to 4 exercises, but im slowly converting to the theory.

If i do 4 days where im doing one movement per body part. Im doing 5 sets with drop sets. I get 20 sets per part BUT im able to go harder on each exercise and each sessions i begin with a different priority body part.

I may keep it up.

Thanks!

I was doing this a couple of years ago and getting comments that my arms etc were looking bigger. Maybe need to get back to it. It’s actually quite an intense way to train if you give it your all.

I do full body rest days 00:00 – 23:59, I’d say 7 days per week. Sadly there’s not enough hours in the day to do more.

I did "athlene x full body split" with workout A and B the last 10 months and it worked. But I will skip legs in the future. Lower body exercises are very challenging compared to upper body.

I think alternating between full body workout A & full body workout B
Would keep things interesting longer

Should you pick different movements for a body part on the next training sessions or stick with the same movements ?

would you do a circuit or 4 sets of 8 to 10? per exercise? thank you kindly.

I can't imagine getting enough pumps with a high-volume approach doing this kind of split per body part but it could work with a more high-intensity approach.
