Forefoot walking demonstration.
This was highly requested in the comments from the "How to Walk" video.
If this video receives enough likes, I will provide more demonstrations at different paces, terrain, elevation and footwear.

This demonstration for walking barefoot or wearing barefoot shoes without any cues or guidance.
Look at this video with fresh eyes without any influence from me or anyone else.
Watch the pace, elevation, side to side, and front to back.
Walking at a slow pace, below what I would term cardio or Intentional walking.
I am wearing Vibram KSO EVO, I believe these shoes are the closest you can get to walking barefoot.
This method of walking will relieve your heel spurs, back pain, plantar fasciitis and other ailments that heel striking has caused.

This method is for barefoot or barefoot shoe wearers Only.
Conventional footwear lacks the flexibility and level sole that makes this natural way of walking possible.

Thank you much for this. I work 12 hour shifts, walking daily 20000-25000 steps and i run 50km a week. I just got injured with knee bursitis, but it was never hurting while running, but walking. I had to stop running for a month, but the knee was still hurting while walking. Guess what. I've changed my walk and the pain is gone brother. 😊 You saved me! I'm getting back to running this week without any problems. 😉

Thank you for this! These videos have changed my life, and more importantly my gait 😅 in November I started to learn how to walk like this in Vivo’s for the first time. Prior I was getting shin splints, sore knees and regularly rolling my ankles. It was so hard to relearn but I think I’m finally getting it to be automatic. And very much appreciate the content to help keep me questioning my movement. Thank you 🙏

After a class 2 sprain and subsequent diagnosed FAI hip pain I am starting fresh from the feet up. I've been practicing the forefoot strike on all my walks so I can change my gait. After 6 months my feet are much stronger and my arch is stronger too. I still have the pain but I'm doing ankle strengthening as well and just working on loosening up my calves, hamstrings and hip flexors. The real challenge lies ahead with trying to strengthen my core and glutes to help hold my hips in a non painful position. It takes so long because it's all about form. I have to go slow or I can't remember to not heel strike. Thank you for showing what this way of walking should look like. I wasn't sure at first what happens after forefoot strike and how you should finish. It looks like you roll from the outside forefoot across to the ball of the foot to launch off the big toe as you do the next forefoot strike on the other foot. Watching again made me think it was outside forefoot strike to the ball of the pinkie toe and then launch off all the toes evenly into the next step with the other foot. This video is a great study tool.

Thank you so much I had been suffering since breaking my femur to return back to normal function and walking! After learning the mechanics and forefoot walking all the pains and tightness out of hips and hip flexors disappeared within days!! Correct function takes less effort it’s like turning a motor on to propel you forward and straight Vs heel strike forcing force in the opposing direction. It scares me there’s Drs and PTs out there telling you the wrong ways

I like how you were the same shoes I wear. My physical therapist seems to think they are a waste of money. However, I disagreed with her. I tell her I am very in tune with my body so I know what it’s OK for my body, and I know what it’s not OK for my body.

Very useful video. Most ‘how to walk’ videos only have 20 seconds of actual walking or so. This gives us all the opportunities to check out and compare technique.

Also, is anyone else watching EVERY SINGLE OTHER PERSON WALK NOW?! I can’t help it 😂 in 5 months since starting this I’ve seen *1* person not heel strike..

I bought my first barefoot shoes over a week ago and then found your channel a few days after, I've been trying to forefoot walk on my way to and form the gym but at times I feel like I look really odd walking like that. This video makes it look more normal, like you're not tippy toeing which is what I feel like sometimes! Thanks for this!

Hello, I was very interested in your other video about striking with the ball of the foot to build glutes. I assumed that meant all the time, but it looks to me like you’re striking on the heel in these. Is striking on the ball meant to be an exercise only?

I just got my pair of vivbrams and I have to say it felt much different compared to minimalist shoes. I went on a 1 mile trail to test them out, and I felt some soreness around my ankles after. I was sort of surprised because I wear minimalist shoes all the time. I probably use them solely for exercise & give my other shoes a break

30yo and I still haven't figured out how to walk.

This is GOLD dude!!! You figured it out. Less talking, more doing. I am going to do a video like this. As you are pushing off to propel yourself forward you need internal rotation of the femor without collapsing the arch too much. If you dont your legs will be stuck in a bow shape not allowing for a fluid straight feet gait cycle. After the foot leaves the ground it should point inwards for a split second and then immediately rebound back to point straight to take your next step.

I switched to minimalist shoes 8 months ago and haven't had any issues, aside from sore foot soles after a very long walk. But recently I've been coming across these kinds of videos and I've been getting in my head about it. What if I am walking wrong but I just won't notice until I've ruined my knees/hips/whatever? But trying all the tips and tricks just gives me problems bc it's really unnatural. This video is definitely more helpful bc I can just see what it's supposed to look like, but it's still difficult for my to assess my own gait. Any tips?
