I’m brand new to this hobby, haven’t purchased anything at all yet, so please forgive me if my question is just silly. I’ve been looking at 6-10” DOBS, more so 8-10”, but am intrigued by these, and am interested in the opinions of those using them.

Hi Tiago, after watching your videos with this scope I bought one here in Canada for my daughter and I to use. We tried it these last few days and had some very good views of Jupiter and Saturn, and a little smudge of the Andromeda Galaxy. She was super excited so it is well worth it. I have a question though, my scope seems to have some play in the Altitude mechanism and I was wondering if yours has that and if it's normal. When I tighten the dial for the Altitude adjustment I can still move the scope on the vertical axis about 0.5 to 1.0 cm. The entire mechanism (the dial) moves actually. It seems to me that there should be no movement at all when it's tightened down (there is no movement on the azimuth when tightened for instance). I wanted to ask someone who also has this scope before I try to contact Sky-Watcher or the seller here. Thanks!

Hey should i get this for far DSO astrophotography? Im a beginner so i don't want the best pictures in the world and is it okay to use a phone adapter and galaxy S23? Also should i get this or the 130mm version

I've been trying to decide on whether or not I should get a 80mm refractor with a focal length of 430mm, or a newtonian telescope. I've been leaning towards the refractor, as I'm relatively new to this hobby, and used to using camera lenses, so I think a refractor would be better for me at this point. If anyone here was or still is in a similar position, what would you recommend?
