Calling it now. The BUSA will still be number 1. Best beginner bike.

I'm an owner of a Ninja 400 and it's a great beginner bike. Fast enough to put a smile on your face when speeding up but doing it in a way that won't get you into trouble. I also rented once a Svartpilen 401 and the only bad thing that I can say is that finding neutral was impossible sometimes. Apart of that it's a very funny bike. I love them both and I think that the best you can do is finding an excuse to convince yourself and go for the one that you like most, because you won't fail.

My beginner bike - in 1988 - was a used $300 84 Honda CM450 that I bought in Las Vegas, sank $300 more into for new sprockets, chain, tire, tuneup, insurance and registration; serviced every 1500-2000 miles at Tom’s Bikes. Put 10, 000 miles a year on that bike until I moved 3 years later. Carbed for altitude, I rode that beast from Death Valley - in March when it was only 70 degrees - to 9000 ft mountsin passes, ranging from San Diego to SW Utah and AZ. Loved riding in the NV Sierras; rode back there 2 years ago. Saw my old bike’s twin in the back of a motorsports garage a few years ago … ❤

This video is classic YN, reminds me of a time when I hadn't bought my first bike yet. I now have 2 bikes, and work in motorcycle insurance after being made redundant from my previous job in utilities. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that you've made my life better, thanks a lot.

I have a Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 for my first bike. It was such an excellent choice. I am so happy with it.

I have and ride an MT03 and I love it. Its very forgiving for "beginner" mistakes and imperfections.

Another begginer bike that flies under the radar which I've come to love is the Honda cb300r. it's a naked upright bike with lightweight handling. I'd highly recommend one to a begginer.

Riding a custom 96 vulcan vn800 as a first bike right now, milage is beyond terrible, but the smile it puts on my face is unreal. At the end of the day, that's what it's about in my oppinion

I love my Kawasaki z400, great bike, IMHO one of the best for beginners. I started riding last year (at age of 45), and was surprised how natural it feels. Before I bought it, I was trying Ninja 400 (was my 1st choice), but z400 sitting/handles seemed much more comfortable, so I chose z400. Never regretted it. I think especially for long rides z400 is much better than Ninja (though I may be just too old for Ninja :-) ).

Dr650 proved to be a great 1st bike for me. Love it, love it, love it. Perfect for me. Simple, easy to learn how to ride (no abs, no traction control, nothing to teach bad habits)., Easy to fix/learn motorbike maintnance, fast enough to not become boring, not so powerful to be uncontolled. Goes anywhere, comfy with seargeant saddle, infinite upgrade / customization. Starts great with a few mods even better, with a bunch amazing. Id rather a well equipped dr over any comprable bike i can think of.

Well, papa yams you really influenced me to purchase the Husky 401 for my first bike, I’ve loved it ever since as I use it on the daily in the streets of Manila 🇵🇭✌️

The RE continental is a really good first bike. Wish I'd known about the interceptor first though. My poor back.

I’d also say the R7 isn’t such a bad choice for first bike. I got my 23’ R7 as my first bike in September and it’s just flat out great, torque all over the rpm and enough power to keep me entertained for years to come. All you need is some self restraint and your golden 👍

cfmoto deserved some mentions. the 300NK is a cheap naked entry level solid choice

No bike over 250 is really a beginner bike if you go round corners faster than your ability.
7 or 8 seconds 0-60 is still enough to get you in trouble if you do it in an urban environment.
The z400 is way too quick for a complete novice if they don't have the self control.
I learnt on a 50cc bike and I pulled out on two cars in the first few days 😄
So god knows if I'd still be here if I'd had a modern learner bike.

I just got a 2022 Honda CB300R. Little torquey single cylinder moreso than the z400/n400 in the lower gears. Wet weight only 317 lbs so great for beginner to flick around and get the feel of your bike on country roads.

Bought a Kawasaki z400 last year.
Fun little bike that’s accessible for shorter riders. Highly recommend

Oh no, Ive been riding for 7 years and currently ride a KTM 390 Duke. Guess I need to start acting like the beginner I am. All jokes aside, I really enjoy the 390 Duke, but I definitely need to get another bike for those longer rides. 25 minutes to work isn't bad, but its not all that fun riding the highway daily.
