Solution to boot error 0xc000000e by rebuilding BCD | winload.exe error | Fail to boot in Windows

This video is a guide to resolving boot errors on Windows computer. The error is a Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD) showing error code 0xc000000e. This BSOD is shown right away as soon as we try to boot into our system. Restarting your computer, or disconnecting additional HDD doesn't help to resolve it. This error occurs because due to some reason the Boot Configuration Data (BCD) has gone corrupt. Due to this, our Windows Boot Manager is not listed in the BCD record and the computer fails to boot.

Once the windows recovery drive is created, we can go ahead with the troubleshooting. There are certain commands that we have to type one by one. The video covers them. The commands are as follows:
1. bootsect /nt60 sys
2. bootrec /fixmbr
3. bootrec /fixboot
4. bootrec /rebuildbcd

I hope the video helps you if you are also facing similar issues.

Thank You.

The command “bootsect /nt60 sys” didn’t work on me and it had some failed response, also the “Add installation to boot list” didn’t work. However, I still tried to do this fix. When I turned off my pc, I removed the bootable USB drive before turning my pc on again. When I turned my pc on, I went to BIOS and made sure that the boot drive priority is the Windows Boot Manager. After that, it just worked. I don’t how this fix worked on my end but I’m really thankful that it did. This is the only tutorial I found helpful. Thank you!

This didn't work for me. Thank you anyway. However, I found the source of my problem: Fast Boot was enabled on BIOS. Turning it off made Windows to boot normally without BSOD.

For anyone having this issue on a asus motherboard, open your bios and click "boot manager" in the bottom right and just click one of the 2 at the top. (I had 2 "boot managers" in my list and clicking the second one made me start up normally)

It didn't work for me 😢. I rebooted my pc after reinstalling windows and I got it again. So disappointed to get this after saving money for a new PC for so long. I wonder if I maybe broke something when I activated amd expo (it's off now). 😢😢

I'd LOVE to know how you discover these things. THANKS because it worked for me too - and I have 42 years in IT. I guess my question is how do you know the command line BCD etc stuff? Where is any of this written or documented??? AND how come "WINDOWS REPAIR" doesn't already have this built in???

You may also find that the BIOS is corrupted. Reloading a fresh BIOS solved my problem. Nothing else worked - until I replaced the BIOS I could not get the PC to boot from any other drive, recovery disk, windows installation disk, or even a cloned copy of the boot drive.

For those who have exhausted all options, you can try restoring your bios settings back to default. :)
