You know after watching house of the dragon season 2 im wondering why stannis didnt just cut off their supplies like Rhaenyra does? Its been awhile so a reason could have been given for this but there was at least 2 other armies at play during this so draining them of their resources while they fight their other wars would have been a valid tactic. The other armies are weak and the Lannisters become a pushover do to war exhaustion and lack of supplies. I also feel like there has to be a better explanation in the books or something for why no one allies with each other as stannis and renly really are the only ones with a valid reason not to imo. Stannis and renly have zero reason not to try and work something out with robb as not only has he proved himself in combat hes very honest and trustworthy and is forward with what he wants. His family freed and the north out of the 7 kingdoms, and his father avenged all of which except one align with both stannis and renly's goals. Not to mention not allying with robb only makes him a future enemy realistically, if tywin hadn't orchestrated the red wedding then robb and stannis would have steam rolled the lannisters even with tyrell help and then what? Robb goes back to the north and declares it its own kingdom whats stannis gonna do? March north where his army has never been just after taking the iron throne? Not likely stannis would die if he started that war especially since i dont think the man would win against robb in a straight fight since even tywin had to cheat and have him assasinated something they didnt even attempt with stannis.
