Siege of Constantinople | Ottoman Empire vs Romans - Epic Cinematic Total War Battle

Mehmet II, 21 years old assaulted the city of Constantinople in a battle of the ages between the now established Ottoman Empire and the old Byzantine Emperor to hold the famous city of Constantinople. Mehmet II wanted to prove his skeptics (both enemies and allies) wrong by capturing Constantinople from the Romans, something which has not been achieved before. The reason for that was the obstacle which was the Theodosian Walls. A Hungarian named Orban went to the Byzantine Emperor and proposed to work for him on a project to construct the biggest cannon ever made, but he was rejected by the Romans due to a lack of funds at that time. Orban then turned to the Ottomans, which after many successful campaigns, were able to afford to hire him. And so, the Turkish engineers started working on the cannon famously called Basilica. Mehmet II outnumbered the Byzantine Romans by many times, but Emperor Constantine XI was not worried and had full confidence in the strength of Constantinople's walls. The Byzantine Roman army was much smaller but was supported by stationed troops from Venice and Genoa.

Many Ottoman ships were also involved in this battle. However, they are not shown here since they are not supported in the mod.

This is meant to show the battle of Constantinople of 1453 but may not be fully historically accurate.

This cinematic battle was created using Attila Total War with the 1212 AD mod.

Fatih Sultan Mehmet, during the conquest of Istanbul, transported about 70 ships over land in one night to bypass a chain blocking the Golden Horn. This event occurred in 1453, and the Ottoman fleet's ships were moved from the land between Galata and Sarayburnu into the Golden Horn. This strategic move played a significant role in the conquest of the city.

Unlike the previous sieges done by the other Ottomans, , , Mehmet invested significantly in the Navy and it played a huge role in the war...He even moved his navy across the land around galata!!! It will be splendid if you were graphically mentioned that!!!

A great coincidence Sultan Mohammad entered in the city on May 28, 1453 the same day when Pakistan conducted nuclear tests in 1998. Salute to valour & bravery of Turkish People . Holy cow that was incredible. I was really looking for something like this, a depiction of the late Byzantine army in action to see what they would've worn. Great looking video, almost felt like I was being transported to a real battlefield.
