Constantine XI was so badass, he fought till the death even though he knew that the Byzantine empire was over, he and his men still fought till the bitter end. He is the true embodiment of “death before dishonour”

Constantine did not make christianity the official religion of the empire(i don't know why ppl still believe this). Constantine merely allowed christianity to exist, and upon his death, converted to this religion, thus becoming the first christian roman emperor. however, HE picked Byzantium as the NEW Rome, new capital of the empire, while in this video it is hinted that Diocletian did this.

In fact, the 1st time Constantinople was sacked, during the 4th Crusade, it was in 1204, not 1202 as it's mentined at 2:08

By the way mehmed was 21 and Constantine did not make Christianity the official religion, he simply made it legal and became Christian himself.

There was a famous huge aqueduct horse track shown in many paintings located next to Hagia Sofia, but nowhere to be seen in modern Istanbul.
My guess is the horse track was destroyed by the Ottoman Turks after conquering the city ?

Leaders of Constantinople were busy discussing the question on the gender of angels, as the Arabs were advancing. I kid you not.

"Present your shield, swords, arrows, and spears to them, imagining that you are a hunting party after wild boars, so that the impious may learn that they are dealing not with dumb animals but with their lords and masters, THE DESCENDANTS OF THE HELLENES (GREEKS) AND THE ROMANS."

Oh geez. Are all those incorrect "facts" the video spouted in the book too?

When Diocletian divided the empire, he created 4 parts and not 2. And in the east the capitals were Nicomedia and Sirmium/Salonika, and not Byzantion. I appreciate the effort but it really makes no point talking about these things if you dont do the research properly and get all the details in order. You may as well just say "some turks came and crashed the party ende punkt"

Mehmed II is my favorite history figure now. He was once considered to be a loser by his own father. Mehmed II proved himself by conquering Constantinople, the center of the world for more than a millennium and declaring himself Caesar of Rome. This is just my fantasy of history; what if that was his promise to his Italian/French slave mom.

Constantine did not make Christianity the official religion. He made Christianity tolerated and he was the first Christian emperor.
