Probably should've commented this sooner but if you're gonna do more NL stuff I very much recommend getting the ACNL plugin (Vapecord version). You'll be able to time travel using that while in the game so you don't have to go all the way out and set it through the menu.

Man the amount of days I’ve spent in new leaf during school holidays and weekends, I wish that new horizons brought back all the content from new leaf, I hope that the next game draws lots of elements from new leaf

I was wondering if they had changed the villager moving system to one similar to later in ACNH bc in 2021, during the update drought, I went back to my New Leaf town that I hadn't visited in 4 years and no one had moved out. The same happened this year with over a year pause in between, all the same villagers were there. I remember villagers moving out much more frequently before the Welcome Amiibo update, which also added mechanics like shaking trees with a net in hand which wasn't possible originally, I'm sure. Really doesn't have much to do with this video lol but when you mentioned villagers moving out by themselves it made me think.
